What a nose! Fresh flowers, Amaro, plus sweet brown spices. Long in the mouth, with a long finish of dried spices. This is different from the others in that is more red-to-brown on the palate, but not brown meaning dried out, rather sweet brown tobacco, Amaro, truffle and liquorice notes. Another very round, integrated, seamless wine showing plenty of freshness and detail. Old Barolo at Mas Farmhouse, NYC.

Amazing how fresh this is with very lively acids but its balanced by fabulous dark red fruits. There is lovely richness and freshness here and the finish is quite complex with a myriad of aged flavors? Still young and quite intense and really fabulous aged Barolo. My only worry is the acidity eventually taking this thing over but right now, its a balanced high-wire act that works beautifully. At B&B Las Vegas.

Light brown and fairly transparent at first. A few hours after opening, developed a deep reddish brown color. Spices, fall leaves, and some remaining floral notes on the nose. Tasted very fresh and structured. Delicious with white truffle risotto but we all agreed that it tasted quite young and seemed like it would be even better in 10 years when it has softened further and continued to develop.

Cityzen gathering – no great wines only great bottles (Cityzen, Washington DC): No great wines, only great bottles but my impression is identical to the last bottle drank two years ago. This is a very youthful wine also the fruit expression is very clean. Lots of red fruits, kirsch, tar and earth. Perhaps the identical profile as the last bottle but my rating is a couple points higher. Is this bottle better? Not so sure but 96 pts drinking experience. Impressive and extremely enjoyable.

Much better than the previous. A little funky on the nose at first, but that blew off rather quickly (after 20 min all the dunk was gone). Nice clear color. The wine needed approx 2 hrs of air (slow-o) before the nose started singing. But when it opened up, it showed a great typical Barolo nose of leather, tar and a hint of roses. The dark aromas followed up in the taste, and you could feel the beautiful balance between totally softened tannins, a nice acidity, and the dark fruit. Nicely done, and a good match with 'Entrecote au naturelle' only paired with potatoe puree, green salad and very good olive oil.

Baltimorean and one dcwino in NYC – Part 1 Italian at Maialino (NYC Maialino): Lots of cherries and fresh strawberries, kirsch, tar and earth. This is a very fresh, vibrant and clean wine that is drinking beautifully.
