  • 2018 and 2019 side by side. Okay and tannic, but less so than the stern and bitter 2018, this 2019 has broader shoulders but has little fruit expansion to offer. Check back in ten years in hopes the fruit finds its way out of the cage it’s currently in.

  • Very concentrated, lots of oak spices. A bit tannic at the moment and a few years will do wonders. Enjoyed quite a bit regardless

  • Three and a half hour decant. Nearly opaque electric magenta color. Blackberry, plum, and oatmeal cookie. Dry, satiny palate, with bright, lingering, mouth filling acidity. Firm, full, plush tannins on the long finish.

This was my first ever Greer. We wanted something fun to celebrate our 28th anniversary. We were married quite young by today’s standards, so we’re not as old as one might think. ;) This Cab is young, voluptuous, and still quite primary. There’s lots of room for improvement, much like us. I hope to wait until my 30th anniversary (or longer) for the next bottle.

  • What a beautiful wine. This wine, year in and year out always ranks consistently high for me. I gave this ~6 hours of air and drank over the next few hours. I tasted a small sip at PnP and it was as good then as it was with more air. It had this cherry vanilla, almost like a cherry starburst nose to it - very pleasant. Good Rutherford dust, very accessible.

  • Needed a great deal of air (overnight); even three hours after opening the wine was still quite closed and difficult to read. Very dark, with a strikingly silky texture. Nose shows cassis / sour cherries / plums, menthol, hints of toasted brioche. Quite a strong wine from a producer I really love. Best at age 10-16. 95 now, certainly will improve in the future. A shame CT won't let me just enter 95-97 or 95+....

  • From magnum. Got to breathe for about 3 hours. Drank over two days.

Just a gorgeous expression of Rutherford. Dark red fruit. Long, lingering finish that just sings. Might have been even better on Day 2.

While this is going to cellar nicely, no problems accessing right now.

  • Wine night with friends (Arizona): What a treat to be able to try something before release! Bursting on the nose with fresh and ripe red fruits, dried earth and clean oak. On the palate was similar from the nose with deep, fresh and ripe red fruits, a kick up of dust from dried earth and new oak. This was a youthful treat with primary flavors (just for now). Depending how you enjoy your poison, enjoy now by decanting and tasting along, or cellar away for 4-6 years for further development and integration. Thanks Lite for the treat! 95+
