Opened two hours. The color is still very bright red and quite translucent. Pretty stuff. The aromas are soft, without the angles of release. There's some cranberry fruit tones, but it's much more plush than usual for that fruit, light bits of flintiness, Palate is soft and still pretty bright, but without much strong flavor. Fairly compact right now, but strong acidity and tons of tartness builds. A bit thin in flavors, though. Similar strong acidic streak on the finish with bits of molten lava and minerality, but only the lightest hints of thin red fruit. I do think I enjoyed this better on release, despite it needing a ton of air. I should have listened to myself more in 2009 when I wrote, "it's drinking so well today I see no reason to wait." My last bottle was 6 years ago. Whoops! Revisited on day two and it was the same.

Probably past its prime as its fruit was mostly gone with only sour cherry remaining combined with earth and spice. Light cherry in color, but missing the Fleurie nose. Still very drinkable and decent.

Purple in color with plum and strawberry on the nose. Hard to describe off flavor of sour funk on initial pour. After 15 minutes it becomes velvety, soft and harmonious. Balanced, smooth and blended palate of cherry, strawberry, rocks and leather. Very nice with roasted Berkshire pork slow roasted with apple juIce. Not your typical floral Fleurie, but very nice.

Surprisingly, this bottle was fully mature. Still had good fruit and depth and length but had a very mature, somewhat flat flavor profile. An off bottle?

Medium red color. Aromas of cranberries, sour cherries and a touch of earth. Medium-bodied fruit in the mouth with excellent structure and good length. Still a little young and tight. Opened up after about a half an hour. Try again next year.

Pop & Pour. Light to medium garnet. Subtle nose of candied cherries, kirsch, red fruit, herbs and vegetables. Medium+ acidity, low+ but firm tannins, medium body. On the palate, red cassis and pomegranate, some lively pepper, and a short-to-medium tangy, bitter red fruit finish. Very lively fruit, decent complexity; quite good.

Decanted 7 hours and again this was marvelous. Like pouring cranberry sauce over molten rocks. Really graceful and elegant on the palate as well. Soft, yet impressively grippy sweet tannins. Everyone was impressed with this.

Medium garnet plum. Cool minerally cran/blackberry nose with traces of game and sweat, followed by a slick (in a good way) combination palate of invigorating cherry fruitiness and haunting stony notes, all carried with great poise and length. An excellent followup to the similarly superb 2005.

Definitely not as youthfull and bright as last year but coming along nicely and turning into a more balanced wine. Lots of flavors going on - strawberries, orange, smoke, leather and a strong core of sweet-tart acidity. Great with roasted chicken.

A refreshing, pure, structured, and velvety smooth drink. Palate shows delicious red fruits speckled with minerality. Nose provides a lovely combo of earth and red berries.

Upon opening this wine was very tight and tannic... you could tell the fantastic purity was there, but it was hard to get past the intense structure. Put a cork in it last night, and reopened it tonight, pouring it into a decanter 5 hours before consumption. As per my previous note, this definitely needs an extended decant time to shine. Now this is tasting like my last note... really showed that same intense purity of fruit and gorgeous intensity that only Cru Beaujolais can do. A lovely wine.

Strawberries and oranges make up the scents of this wine along with a hint of smoke. The minerality is strong from start to finish when this is tasted. It builds into some lovely apple flavors at the end with a dusty, zesty mid palate. The tannins are fairly gentle throughout the experience. Quite tasty.

A beautiful nose with some red fruit and earth and something like a pear tart with a nice flaky crust. More fruit and earth on the palate. Good acidity, with some bit on the finish, lingers lightly for a long time. A very pleasant wine.

As others had mentioned, pure strawberries and raspberries come through on both the nose and palate, along with some sawdust. The acidity and fruit mesh well and are in balance from the start of the taste to 20 plus seconds after.

This was in the decanter for 7 hours by the time the note was taken (had several bottles in between). Absolutely stunning pure strawberry and raspberry aromas on the nose with some nice minerality. Smells like pouring water over hot rocks. Really, this is an absolutely gorgeous nose... smells of one of the purest expressions of real fruit I've encountered on a nose. Light bodied, and very much Cru Beaujolais on the palate, showing that fantastic fruit. Again following through on the finish. This isn't hugely complex, but man is it pure and expressive in what it is, with great acidity. Drinking so beautifully today, with some nice tannins. The tannins indicate it'll age well, but it's drinking so well today I see no reason to wait.

Actually, as it breathed, the wine's flavors opened significantly, taking on an odd, cosmetics-like flavor profile of scented lipstick or something, very weird but still rather pleasurable.

This bottle was maybe not as zingy as the last and there was a definite spritz. Compared to last bottle this seemed very simple and a little muted. The cranberry aspects were especially dominant.

Nice zippy zingy cherry fruits and a really taut edge. Very precise. Floral notes in the middle. Nice acidity pulls this along with a softer finish giving off some stony notes. Very nice.

Out of the cellar this has a prickly mouth feel that is not that pleasant. The nose is very nice, with ripe strawberry fruit and a little dirt. As it warms the prickle is a little less noticeable. This may have a little re fermentation going on, but it smells correct. Weird.

I am partial to this style of wine but - wow - this is a good one. Fresh fresh fresh flavors of strawberry and cherry with just enough interest to be worth drinking. Zingy acidity that invigorates your palate and inspires comments like "I don't know why anybody would pay more than this for a bottle of wine". Good stuff.

This was the best of the 3 bottles I drank. Much fresher and richer than the 4/23/11 bottle. More accessible than the 11/30/10 bottle.
