After my third or fourth bottle of this wine I'll say that each bottle lands a bit differently. I like it, like almost all Sangiovese based wines, but its not great. It's a high acid wine from ripe grapes (14.5% ABV) but oddly it lacks depth or much of a "fruit" component. Overripe, perhaps, some tannins, but out of balance without delivering much pleasure. Well, maybe I won't buy any more of these !!

Garnet in color with some bricking Red fruits and leather prominent on the nose More limestone, cherry, and tobacco on the palate Medium heavy body, medium heavy alcohol. Light tannins, medium acidity Good table wine, paired well with lamb shawarma with harissa

Short decant. Medium garnet with some bricking. The nose is just classic tuscany - tuscan earth, tobacco, and sweet balsamic dominate with sour cherry underneath. The palate was initially closed down behind a wall of tannin but quickly came to life. Similar aromatics but classic dusty tuscan eath with medium + tannin, still pretty rough in texture at this point. This is classic tuscany right here, and this is a RdM that needs a bit more time but is still great value. If you want authentic montalcino this is the producer to look for. Drink 2025-2032.

I popped and poured this one at 60 degrees F and paired it with tortellini, marinara and spicy meatballs. I could not get away from the acidity. The nose descriptors others have offered are accurate. But, in my estimation, it is unbalanced on the palate. The acidity stands out and detracts.

Dark ruby color with clarity, brightly toned. Aromas of blood orange & cherry, sandalwood, dusty earth, hibiscus, star anise and mushroom - nicely aromatic. Good flavor development and fruit intensity on the palate, similar themes to the nose with some up-front round density that emerges with air, though at its core the wine is lean and austere relative to ABV. Sharp acidity and medium round tannins, finishing with dry zesty red fruit depth. Would love to see a bit more phenolics here, but I guess I'd be drinking a Brunello at that point!

Decanted. Now 45 min after decant. Melange of fruity aromas of cherries, plums, and cranberries, medicinal bark, a bit of herbs and earth. Palate w cherries and just ripe plums w bitter herbs, bark, and earth. Excellent acids on a medium body w moderate+ tannins. Nice moderately long finish that echo the palate finishing w grippy tannins. This is good. Really like the structure here w the fruit that stands up to it. Lively but also w some gravitas. I think this can improve with short term aging. This is a nice value. 90+

Decanted two hours. Medium ruby with garnet edges. Smelled sour red cherry, oak, and herbs, with the taste confirming. Leans a bit acidic but not overwhelmingly so, with fine tannins. A little light in mouthfeel despite the alcohol, but with plenty of flavor to go around and a medium finish.

I'll enjoy the rest of the bottle, though others can be better expressions of Rosso di Montalcino. QPR also is a little too low. Beautiful on the nose. Body is a bit light relative to the High Acid and M+ Tannins.

Solid wine enjoyed at restaurant without decant. Markup was typically unsatisfying, but at retail price, I'd be happy with the QPR. Some tannins that benefited from 60 minutes air.

This pours medium ruby in the glass. The nose is fairly closed off and tight showing mulberry, violets, plums, moderate rubbery reduction, and a background touch of leather. The palate is quite assertive with medium plus acid, medium plus tannin and a bright plummy finish that's clipped a tad short by some bitterness. Overall this is a painfully young effort offering very little drinking pleasure today. The rubbery reduction intense structure on the palate really detract from what is otherwise a fairly simple, but charming wine. I'm not totally sure I'd go to Sangiovese if tasted blind based on the nose but the palate is certainly very Italian. I've definitely had better vintages of this, but a little age certainly couldn't hurt.

nearly undrinkable. cherry cough syrup, oak. Would expect rosso di montalcino to pair with eggplant/tomato pasta, but clashed horribly.

부드럽고 잔당감은 없고 적당한 산도가 받혀주니 꿀떡 잘 넘어가는 와인. 2만원대 쟁여두고 마셔야할 와인.

Perfectly identifiable by smell and taste. Scented, tannic, savory, densely fruited.
