Not surprisingly this was wound up and shy on first pour, but a short decant quickly added depth and weight. Exceptional precision and balance, with ripe lemon and orchard fruit and great acidity. I'd expect patience will be rewarded with this wine over the next 5-10 years.

Grand Jury du Vin - Republic of Georgia; 11/1/2023-11/9/2023 (Republic of Georgia then stopover in Paris and Dijon): Expressive nose displaying concentrated sweet yellow fruit, lemon curd, honey, beeswax, vanilla, dry extract, sesame, sweet spies and limestone. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of concentrated yellow fruit, rich, oily and deeply toned but also showing a good balance and energy, bright acidity, strong mineral, and a long sweet yellow fruit driven finish with honey and beeswax at the end. This is a big scale concentrated Meursault that nicely expresses the producer and the vineyard.

La Paulee 2023. Yellow fruits, honey, five spices, dense and powerfull in the mouth, mineral, complete wine. Outstanding potential in 10 yrs. Excellent wine in the making.

Domaine Lafon Cellar Visit and Tasting (Meursault): Tasted at Lafon. All Meursault cuvees were bottled between March - June 2022. Almost all from Dessus this vintage, with the lower section mostly going into the Meursault AC. Ripe apple and pear with toasted walnuts. Rich and fleshy with sneaky good length. 92-94 point potential, from 2025 forward.

La Paulee 2023 - Grand Tasting (New York): Brief impressions at La Paulee so no score. Some green pineapple. Seemed less approachable than the Clos de la Barre.

2023 La Paulee Grand Tasting of 2020 Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): Finer and deeper than the Clos de la Barre with discrete oak and less overtly sweet fruit. At least excellent.
