Color pretty much unchanged since my last note almost 5 years ago. Nose was still complex, with plenty of dark and red fruit, some spice a a hint of forest floor. Softer palate than back then, it seemed just a bit past it’s prime. Long pleasant finish. We stand through our 4 other bottles in n the interim, and the wine had at least held at my previous 92. Seems to have declined a bit in the last few months. We had been able to source Pasanau in the PA state stores, it is no longer available. Need to look for an alternative.

Purchased from Garagiste for $18.99. Holding well. Very funky nose, barynard, brett, reminded me of Pegau. Very enjoyable and surprised at its longevity.

Bottle had leaked so PnP. Vibrant bouquet with lots of bright fruit. Palate is brambly and rich with an abundance of fruit. Well balanced with tanin. I will hold my last 4 bottles for several more years before trying again. Overall, a very nice Priorat.

Dark purple, with just a hint of red at the edges. Big, fruity and spicy nose. Balanced and integrated palate, with lots of red and dark fruit, tannins and a long finish. Evolving nicely. Might get even better.

The wine is a deep garnet color. The sensuous nose has black cherries, minerals, dried herbs, raspberries, vanilla, wildflowers, blueberries, black pepper, and a slight hit of eucalyptus. This has medium body, moderate, very ripe tannins, and very good acidity. The wine is rich and velvety on the palate with lush fruit up front and minerals, dried herbs, spicy oak, and pepper kicking in on the backend and carrying through the long finish. This is an outstanding bottle of wine, not as rough and tumble as I was expecting. This can be enjoyed over the next half decade, perhaps longer.

Black with a deep ruby rim. Some development in the aromas, flavors of stewed plum, dry leaves, vanilla. Medium to full bodied, a bit thinned out towards the finish.

Blind Tasting Priorats (Tom's House, Palo Alto, CA): Black plum, jammy black fruit, pepper and a bit of brett. Full bodied with medium acidity. Ripe blackberry and raspberry fruit, bramble, moderate tannins. A big wine but balanced. (my 4th, group's 9th)

Cork crumbled on opening. This still has a bit of life ahead. Drank over 4 nights & held up fairly well. PnP then let aerate for 1- hrs. Black cherry & dark berry fruit bouquet w/graphite, lavendar, espresso, sandalwood & hint of asian spice aromas. Ripe black cherry & dark berry fruit flavors w/licorice, herb & caraway. Fairly sharp acidity & still firmly tannic. Full-bodied w/lingering & slightly hot finish.

Perfectly nice QPR wine with an earthy funky streak that smelled a bit like dry cat food. Not a personal favorite but since I got this for free due to a shipping error I'm not complaining. Throwing a fair amount of fine grained sediment.

Wonderful wine. A bit rustic right upon opening, but 30 min in the decanter really opened it up and brought it together. Ripe fruit with well integrated acidity and soft tannins. Buy more.

60% Grenache, 23% mazuelo [carignane], 9% syrah, 8% cab sauv. Dark bing cherry/ruby color. Tight nose at first. Ripe sweet cherry & earth plus sweet spicy oak. The earthiness, spiciness & oak all deepen after short airtime. Aromas of deep cherry, berry, cinnamon, spicebox, & a leathery quality arise. On the palate, the wine is racy & spicy, race car glamorous, with black raspberry, pepper, black cherry-- lots of deep dark fruit. Also some nice chewy minerality. The spiciness is dramatic & fascinating.. kind of like a mole sauce, or spicy Mexican hot cocoa. Noticeable level of extraction & a nice burliness. Good tannin levels & acidity. Enjoyable midpalate, nice finish, good length. Overall impression somehow remains sleek despite all that intensity. Still tastes young; would like to see what this shows next year. Good QPR at $19.

Dark and brooding on the nose with blackberries, vanilla, herbs, licorice and an almost clear cut aroma of chocolate covered cherries. The palate gives way to more dark fruits and licorice, with leather and firm-ish, dusty tannins. Most certainly made in the modern style, but not in a way that overrides varietal characteristics --I don't have enough familiarity with Priorat to be able to determine regional typicity. In addition the masses of fruit are in no way cloying or unbalanced. I must also add that this wine is a bit hot, which does unbalance the fruit and complexity. If this can be resolved when the tannins melt away in 3-5 or so years it will merit a higher score. 89+?

Purple/red. Cedar nose, black and red fruit, some violets and meaty notes. The palate is quite hedonistic, still quite tightly wound, but already shows some lush oaky blackcurrant tastes with a lot of tannin and alcohol. There's a secondary layer ready to break through, but perhaps this is a few years from its best. Great to drink (with food) now.

A bit fizzy on the front of the palate, and a little thin after that. Not overly impressed. Should wait a year before trying again, probably needs more time in the bottle.

Purple color, and nose of grape, plum, and violets. Plenty of extract, though not all that much structure. Powdery and ample tannins on the fruity finish.

Very nice blend -- 60% Grenache, 23% Manzuelo, 9% Syrah, 8% Cab. Earthy, dusty nose with berry fruit underneath. Interesting from the first sip -- soft and lucious while also being frim and dry. Dark berry fruit. Woody tannins. Long finish. Yes. 14.5% alco (D 7, F 6; DaV)

BOT 244--Spain Night (Miami, Oxford, OH): Nice fruity, smoky, black pepper nose with a hint of eucalyptus. Big dark fruits lead into a long finish that fights on the way down. This wine is enjoyable, but reminds me of the phrase "bull in a china shop."

The Jug Goes Spanish: A touch of mintiness on he nose. Very new world, the most modern of the bunch. Great red fruits. Tastes like a Cali rhone blend. Eucaplypt finish. Not overdone at all, and nice structure. Would like to give it another year or so.
