This bottle was singing. Tart red fruit, zippy acid, and a finish that carried on. No rush, but this is drinking great. Pop, decant (lots of fine sediment), and pour.

Still holding strong, but not particularly exciting. I prefer my CB to offer more earth and Burg qualities. This was bigger on red fruit and not much secondary.

Love the wine year in and out but never bothered to age it, so it is good to try one with some age - delicious and very lively on the palate - so all good here! Has a Côte d'Or mouthfeel but more of a northern Rhone taste. Purple, stony fruit, good grip and length. No rush to drink these.

Thinner and more acidic than I was hoping, although I am not that familiar with Beaujolais so this may be normal. It improved somewhat over an hour after opening

Wonderfrul medium weight Gamay. Reading over my notes, I think the last bottle I had was off somehow, as this was very fresh tasting with no harshness at all. All the normal strawberry/cherry present with just a bit of wet earth for depth. Drinking great now.

Upon opening this was rather unpleasant, with sulfide like aromas suggesting rotten egg and flowers of sulfur; the perception was reduced but not eliminated with air. One night later, to my surprise this has attenuated to an acceptable level, revealing a gamay with lovely weight and texture and a unique earth and mineral infused sweet black cherry expression. Very complex, with notes of chicory, oolong tea, sassafras and amaro. More thought-provoking than many Burgundies I've drank at two or three times the price.

A little one dimensional, but I like the dimension. Seems to have gained weight over time, but lost a bit of the freshness. Strawberries, medium+ weight. Last glass on day 2 was the best, with some secondary flavors and elegance emerging.

This wine is the reason I stay on the Garagiste email list. It is flat-out delicious. The herbed, metallic strawberry essence is unparalleled in my wine-drinking experience. LOVE IT. I also love the price.

Medium dark red. Profoundly mineral nose lacks the game and earth I enjoy so much from other Crus but makes up for it with a copious amount of smooth stones accenting cranberry and pomegranate fruit tones. Effortless palate made slippery by the total integration of its acids. Strikingly true to its Cru, and a superb pairing with two generously seasoned, mildly spicy vegetable dishes.

Very nice wine drunk by the pool with plastic tumblers which was less than ideal. Easy to see why people like this wine, both accessible and more lurking if you have the time or inclination

Agree with others that this is a great wine. Cherry fruit, minerality and acidity are in perfect harmony. Paired great with fruit but probably enjoyed it even more on its own before dinner. Bravo.

nose: very mineral driven, strawberry on the edges. palate: I just love all the flavors, the melding of acidity and body...this is a great wine. Red fruits and granite all the way. In the backgroudn I can sense twigs and green stems, but they are very, very indistinct. I can't think of any other bottle under $20 that delivers this kind of experience. high acidity, low tannin, med mouthfeel, gravel-y finish.

Day 1: Gravelly, tannic, tactile. Not fruitless, but the fruit is partially occluded for a long time, present in the nose, but just hinted at on the palate, as a plum-skin tartness (with berries!). The next day, the tannins and the stern acidity remain, but the fruit has evolved--the snap of plums and raspberries laced firmly in an orange-peel package. Yesterday I saw what was possible. Tonight, I'm pretty darn happy. Hold the other two for a while.

In glass a half hour. Nose shows tons of bright, seedy, exotic red fruits, some dried sweetened hibiscus flowers, as well as some gravel. Light bodied, but a bit grainy showing some sour on the mid-palate. Sour raspberry candy ropes carry into the finish, and it's tartness just holds for a fairly long while (I can still feel the tartness even 10 minutes after my previous drink). I love sour, tart wines, but that's basically all this one is showing, and it's lighter in complexity and flavor than expected. It does what it does very gracefully, but I'd prefer more.
Put a cork in it and finished off the last two glasses two days latter. Certainly gained additional elegance, so I'm upping the score one point. Will try and wait a couple years before popping the next.

My first Gamay. Smells like a spicy seashore Pinot, with mineral-laden tastes of orange bordering on pink grapefruit combined with cranberry bordering on raspberry. Light bodied with a bit of tannic grip. A totally terrific value. Day 2 update: more or less unchanged, re-rated to 90 simply because 91 was newbie enthusiasm run amok.

Drank this over two days. Took awhile to open up to a lovely aroma of pink cotton candy and citrus notes. On the palate, bright acidity, red berries, and oranges. Medium tannin and light-medium body. Really a terrific wine.

Impression only from last week - very nice wine, perfect at the dinner table with many foods. Brightly acidic, strongly tanninc (but that doesn't detract) with tons of bright red berry fruit. The "bananas and bubblegum" of more generic Beaujolais is nowhere to be found with this wine.

Granular and tactile in the mouth, both from the tannin and the sensation of pulverized gravel -- and just when it seems like it might be so abrasive to turn dry and austere, the bright raspberry fruit intensifies and saturates the palate like syrup, as though it is literally being wrung out of the solid matter right in your mouth, trickling out of the wine like the fresh, sticky juice of a thick-skinned fruit you just bit into. A tight spine of acidity contributes to the taut structure and thirst-quenching quaffability. Awesome stuff.

Excellent wine, great beaujolais. Nose restrained at first pop, but after an hour of air, exuberant sweet red fruits (not sure how fruit can smell sweet but it did) - maybe raspberry and plum. Palate was great, rich fruit but tart acidity, almost with the mouthfeel you might get from cranberries, but softer. Great earthy tone that works into the tannins leading to a long finish. Had with braised lamb, onion and potato - superb match.

Aromatically challenged,at first, though a tinge of wet slate and red fruit does peak through eventually. After 1.5 hours open in the bottle and glass, more of a sense of bake plums and jammy raspberries becomes apparent. Silky smooth on the palate, with perfect acidity. Not a lot of individual berry flavors, and a short finish, but a brilliant an elegant wine.
