Fantastic Burg. Smooth, mature but retains fruit and freshness. This is great drinking stuff. Lacking the final complexity perhaps but could drink this ob most days with great pleasure.

Still going strong and still carrying a lot of the primary flavor. On the very dark cherry almost black fruit side. Bit of earthiness. Nice nose. Overall enjoyed but not sure lives up to its grand cru pedigree. Missing that burgundy magic.

Color: ruby with bricking Nose:red fruit, flowers, forest floor Taste: cola, plum, earth, leather This has layers of flavor - much of the fruit is in the background with secondary flavors up front well integrated with tannins lingering for a minute or more. This has time to evolve further. Not sure this wine is my favorite style - a bit more lean and nuanced than I enjoy.

Forest fruits, cherry, some sous bois, hints also of truffle and almost of a soapy foam; a thin but distinguished palate, not all that much fruit, long lived; perhaps a little closed or underdeveloped; good bones but little flesh, yet still pleasing

On the nose dark cherries, cassis, truffle and a touch of mocha. Medium bodied palate with grainy tannins, subtle truffle notes, dark berried fruit and good depth. A wine that still needs little time to soften the tannins and acidity, but the wait will surely be worth it !

Pre-Burgundy BBQ (Roy and Soo Yar's, Jalan Hari Raya): Excellent. Still young, still with years of development ahead of it before it is anywhere near ready, but this has certainly come around very nicely since I last tried it upon release some four-and-a-half years back. It had a lovely nose, with a ringing clarity to its sour cherry notes, lovely perfumy florals and a generous seasoning of undergrowth and peppery spice. The palate was youthful but very delicious, with bright, juicy flavours of sour cherries and sweet blueberries with a nice lilt of fresh cut flowers. Still rather primary, but one could just about pick up a nice earthy depth beneath the more lifted flavours. This was another very complete wine, with both power and elegance aplenty. Solid finish too, bright, juicy, with supple tannins wrapped around lovely sour cherry and flower notes laced with a good amount of spice. While not the most complex of wines, it had such a lovely texture and feel - quite the iron fist in a velvet glove. I really enjoyed this, and it has the potential to grow into something special. My wine of the night.

Excellent nose of berries and spice and eventually a minty note emerged as well. Very expressive. Palate takes a little longer to develop but with time it opened up to show very nice depth and a long finish.

Tasted again. The wine is really good, one of the best 2006s I have had the chance to taste. Complex, and dark fruit and spice. Big tannins. This wine has lots of room to grow. Drink if you like them young, hold if you want to get the most out of this one.

Opened this on the advice of a comment below - "if you have 6, drink one now". While I understand the sentiment, I wouldn't have replicated the experiment. If you have ANY of these, put them away for 3-5 years. Tight, closed, not open for business, at least on the pop. Good materials overall, in a delicate, "pretty" style. Quite aromatic with rich but not overpowering red fruit and some red florals. The palate at this point doesn't live up to the promise of the nose. The tannins overpower the delicate fruit. That fruit, while seemingly delivering a complicated set of impressions on the palate, are somewhat overwhelmed at this point. "If you have 6, open the FIRST one in 2014" would be my advice.

Brilliant dark ruby color. Raspberry, cinnamon, vanilla, clove, limestone, the slightest hint of sweet chocolate, and a caramel touched roasted red pepper. You have to search for the aromas, but the complexity is there. Nuanced with a bit of cigar shop aromas. Medium bodied, and a little too much powdered rock on the palate. The finish is long, and it improves as it stretches on and on. The finish has a little clove again. This is very good now, and will improve with time. If you have 6, drink one. If you have one, hold for ten years and read the latest notes.

Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin Singapore, Potel Tasting. (Harbour Grill, Hilton Hotel, Singapore): Slightly dusky nose, almost a little rustic initially, but that blew off slightly as the wine took on perfumed, darkly fruited flavours, with hints of mint lurking in the background. Good concentration on the palate, dark dark cherries, with fresh acid and rather softer tannins than the Chambertin Grand Crus. Some spice emerged after time, and the fruit took on a slightly higher pitch. Nice grippy finish. A little less exciting than the 2004 that we tasted next to it, but maybe a little better put together in its balance and concentration.

From cask: Fairly pale cherry/ruby. Very Modern Pinot on the nose : cherry, fruitcake and a touch of oak spice. Medium fulll and well balanced, but no flair. 3+

Close to Clos: Earth, cherry, lead pencil and musk. High in acidity, with the fruit being kept bright as a result. Good persistence and texture.

Fragrant nose initially hinted at class; quite an acidic streak running through the wine. Not in a great place right now.
