PnP. Good from the get-go, but got better as temperature increased from 46 to about 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Flavor of melon, minerals and citrus in a nice balance with some buttery notes giving a nicely rounded effect. Great with pan sauteed scallops. I prefer the Araujo Napa Sauvignon, but I only see that one in restaurants and understand how this one has a following. Enjoyed it but will not actively seek it out.

A mere shadow of its former self 8-10 years ago, imo. Not sure if it's the vintage or the maker now, but it's a hollow impersonation from days gone by. It's still nice in that it makes people question what they're drinking, but it's somewhat hollow and weak compared to the highly thick and viscous vintages of years past. Needs to go back to more malo!
Once again.... notes that are consistent with my postings of recent vintages except......... this is better !!!!! I have stated that these wines are some of the better California Sauvignon Blancs out there and continue to scream out that fact. The wine remains a balanced Cali style SB that makes it an outstandng example of that style and terroir. The mouthfeel is viscous and delivers a creamy textured texture to he pallete
The flavors in mouth are fruit forward with ripe apple and peach, recent vintages it has a a touch of oaky vanilla and enough acidty to give it a clean expected finish of a Sauvignon Blanc. This is a balanced wine which does not let you down.

Coravin by the glass. Nose of nectarine, lemon, lime, chamomile and coconut. Palate mirrors the nose. Creamy with a long, soft dry finish. Well balanced. Served with chicken, leek soup and parmesan dumplings

Transparent straw color, with tropical fruits on the nose. Medium body, medium-to-medium low acid. Fruit cocktail, peach syrup, and some grassiness on the finish. Very tasty, but I have had more complexity from other vintages.

Light golden color. The nose is peachy keen with cantaloupe, lime, kiwi, and papaya, backed up with spicy white pepper, sliced jalapeno, with some almond skin, honey, and candle wax – a lot to dig into. The palate is plush but taut with a spritely appeal and flavors of papaya, yellow apples, kiwi, lemon slices. There’s a brisk infusion of minerals, chalk dust, and mountain stream, with some white pepper and dandelion and deeper tones of honey, white tea, and hay. Complex, vibrant, racy, this is a perennial winner, and another great vintage. Aged five months on the lees in 18% new French oak.

Barrel-fermented and aged sur lie for five months in French oak barriques (18% new), Merry Edwards' 2022 Sauvignon Blanc is a light golden, fresh wine that serves up a package of lime zest, clementines, watermelon, cut grass and candied ginger. Medium-bodied, seamlessly alcoholic (14.0%) and with a notable component of vanilla from the oak exposure, it retains good mid-palate presence and finishes long. Popped, poured and serially tasted over the ensuing two hours, this showed best after the first 30 minutes in glass. For my palate, a bit lighter hand with the oak would have resulted in something better, but this is still a terrific wine. Drink now-2027.

Eye: Very very pale straw.
Nose: Tropical fruit cocktail. Pear juice. Gently estery.
Palate: Moderate acidity. Gently stemmy. There’s a nice creaminess from the lees. More fruit cocktail. Pineapple.
Finish: Moderate length. Fruit cocktail, and maraschino cherries dissolve into smooth cream and a touch of salt.
NB: Drank from a half bottle.

Similar to previous note but this scored a bit higher as a good match with halibut and a beurre blanc sauce with capers. 17/92

Russian River Valley, Sonoma, 2022 Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc ($38 local merchant). Sharp mid-straw gold; boxwood, pyrazine, citrus nose; low-mid acids; medium-full depth; semi-long fat, unctuous finish; not as crisp as previous vintages. w/cheeses. 16.5/91.
