Took the two grandsons with us to Red Lobster. Off the wine list. A stark reminder of how bad a super-market grade wine off an obligatory list wine can be! :) Abrasive, out of balance with metallic notes. $36 on the list. Drinks like sub $5.

Pale yellow straw in the glass. Typical NZ sauv blonc nose. Very acidic on the early palette but becomes more well-rounded in the finish. Notes of fresh green apple and bright pear.

For a NZ sauv blanc, it is quite delicate and not as punchy as others in the price range. Medium acid, grassy/green bitterness and fruity, with noticeable funky notes. Smooth drinking. Not bad on its own, but harder to pair with food.

Pale lemon color, medium minus body. Noticeable and characteristic NZ Sauvignon Blanc aromatics and flavors. Grassy, herbal aromas with accents of lime and passion fruit in the profile. Lacks the crispness I would expect from a top flight SB. Mass produced quaffer. Average to slightly above.

Typical NZ SB nose, very high in acidity, a bit short on the finish and coming close to astringent but still good value for the money.
