  • Wow. This blew me away. So intensely mineral and concentrated and tensile and long. Wish I had lots more. I think this bottle could have gone many years more.

  • Very vinous, lots of minerality, texture. Fresh, but already nicely evolved.

  • Creamy rich, full bodied BdB with good oak from the 08 Sol Ex. very very drinkable either on its own or with food. Not a restrained minerally style of BdB at all but offers so much more. Excellent champagne. Wish I had lots more.

Mye trøkk i denne!
Dette fratar den ikke elegansen på noen måte.
Høy fruktmodning med modne epler på smak.
Flott konsentrasjon og den viser en nydelig nerve på hele reisen.
Lang finish med sitrus og mineralkick.
    92-93p

  • Lovely BdB. Citrus driven with plenty of high tones and some orchard fruit too. Saline and chalky minerality. Very fresh.

  • Offline at new Bentley CBD: October 2012 disgorgement. Touched by nutty oak, with honey, vanilla, apple, pear and chalk. The minerality and acidity cut a path through the honey tinged fruit, with fantastic balance for my taste.

  • extremely ripe with some banana. Long, savory finish with delicious oak tones. Lacking freshness.

  • Very complex Champagne, creamy mouthfeel, strong notes of flint. Both citrus notes and yeasty notes prevalent. Actually a bit difficult to figure this wine out, and it's better - to me - cold versus cellar temperature or warmer

  • WOW. What a knockout of a champagne. The flavor is there, but this story is all about texture. A war between the richness and the sheer tension of the wine that plays out on your palate with every sip. This is an impressive effort for sure, but I think age will add even more. This wine has the stuff.

Frisk syre. God lengde med oksydative aromaer.

  • A young, fresh and vivacious BdB that offers lemon, butter and white stone fruit within a really focused, minerally chassis. Acidity is excellent and while there is good weight, the wine has precision, drive and good length. Clean. There's also a subtle, brine-like quality that reminds me of top shelf Chablis. Very impressive.

  • 2013 - Birthday Celebration: Alcohol :: 13%
Highly focus, high tone, expressive aromas with white peach, citrus, lemon and sea breeze. Medium - full bodied, complete mouthfeel even at this young stage, all the saline mineral and savory complexity along with bright lively acidity and white fruits. All about finesse an energy here. It grows on the palate from start to finish and never let go. Really lovely.

  • March 2012 disgorgement. Opened to celebrate the start of 2013. Light gold coloured, fine bead with quite a lot of mousse. Vanilla, pear, lemon and slightly nutty aromas. There is a elegance and superb firm minerality on the palate. More creamy than the Pierrières from the same vintage but still excellent fruit purity and depth. This really lifted with time in the glass over the course of a couple of hours. Excellent length and a really compelling wine.

  • Colour: light- to medium yellow
Nose: citrus, some elderberry flower, pronounced mineral notes with some chalk dust, white flowers, some vanilla. More mineral than the 2008 Les Pierrières.
Palate: quite a lot of mineral, ripe apples and pears, high acidity, grapefruit, very long aftertaste. More muted notes on the palate than the 2008 Les Pierrières.
Summary: very mineral-dominated and oak-influenced blanc de blancs style. Young, 92+ p.

  • House-Cooling Party at Brian's (Moonbeam View): I thought this was excellent. Freshly disgorged on 5 march 2012, this was still very young. But even so, it was far more approachable and rather better than the Blanc de Noirs Les Maillons from the same vintage. Served blind, this was as clearly a BdB as I have come across, with a very white-Burg smelling nose, where ripe apples were wed to mushroom and cream aromas, a little floral hint and a touch of sweet oak, all underlined by a smoky, flinty, minerally whiff. Very nice. The palate drank as you would expect from a young Extra Brut, with a really firm backbone of bracing acidity and dry extract that formed a solid spine for the wine's ripe flavours of red apples and sweet lemons. There was a lot of depth and presence and quite a bit of ripeness on this, so that the fruit still gave a lingering impression of sweetness even though it was super-dry, with the whole package wrapped in a very fine mousse. I found it to be a very interesting, delicious mix. This is still tremendously young - something that was especially obvious in the whole lot of primary citrus notes that perked up as the wine led into a powerful finish just before it broadened out with deep pull of apple fruit and a serious undercurrant of minerality. A really solid Champagne, full of character, this is excellent stuff that it worthy of cellaring. I would love to try it again in ten years.
