  • Opened screwcap and poured. Surprisingly sweet and lively plum, black cherry, raspberry notes. Quite an enjoyable offering at 13 years old. Medium body. Excellent.

  • This is showing really well right now. Was afraid might have waited too long to drink but probably had another year or two if wanted. But why wait?

  • Classic Siduri RR pinot - popped and poured. A little one-note at the start but improved as it had some time to open up. A nice example of Russian River pinot.

  • Not impressive. Can't recommend at it. Wasn't even corked. Something about this was just not pleasant.

  • 14.3% alcohol. Another year in bottle did the trick for this wine. Black cherry color. Terrific nose of black cherry, baking spice, and floral notes. In the mouth, refined and has a beautifully fine texture. The fruit rolls across the tongue with plush refinement and is bolstered by baking spice and earth. Good acidity and a strong finish. This is a terrific blend. A-

  • Cherry and earth with some spice. Medium to full bodied with a rich, round, smooth texture. A bit straightforward and slightly heavy, but nicely balanced with a full, fruity finish. Overall very pleasant and enjoyable. Better than my last couple of bottles.

  • Popped and poured. Cherry and earth with some spice. Medium to full bodied with a rich, smooth texture. My least favorite element was probably the finish which I thought was a bit hot. A bit straightforward and slightly heavy, which is not my favorite style, but still a nice wine.

  • As tasty as the last bottle!

  • Lots of alcohol, lots of fruit (a little sappy). Not much complexity. Siduri has numerous other Pinots that are much better in the same price range.

  • 14.3% alcohol. Wow, this has really made some progress in the last six months. Black cherry color. Outstanding, rich nose of black cherry, blackberry, cinnamon, and earth. In the mouth, this is showing excellent concentration and purity, with sappy black cherry and blackberry fruit, baking spice, and earth notes that hit a solid acidic spine. The finish has just a touch of heat on it, which is the only nit with this wine right now. Otherwise, it's absolutely outstanding. A-

  • Okay, a couple of years may help it integrate and take the edge off- if it lasts that long.

  • Hot, disjointed, oaky, decent fruit and spice, but not my favorite Siduri.

  • 14.3% alcohol. It's nice to see how much this wine has opened up in the past year. Rich bouquet of black cherry and baking spice, with a baritone note to the fruit. In the mouth, it's palate-coating and exuberant. There's almost something playful and child-like about this wine's enthusiasm. That's not to say it's simplistic. The fruit is terrific and pure, with baking spice and mineral notes. The texture is plush, with gentle acidity. Long finish. Terrific stuff. A-

  • Nice earthy aromas with dark cherry and strawberry flavors with spice & oaky notes. Still quite young, should improve in a year or two.

  • Solid bottle of pinot with nice body, bright fruits, mellow oak and tons of spice. Really nice silky texture with rich flavors and good acidity. Bright fun wine to drink.

  • 14.3% alcohol. This has begun to smooth out already. Dark cherry color. Some funk on the nose, which blows off with just a few minutes of swirling. It opens up showing a beautiful, plush expression of RRV fruit: black cherry, blackberry, earth, funk, and minerals. In the mouth, a delight for its velvety mouth feel and excellent balance. Pure black cherry fruit is complemented by expressive, complex earthy notes. Bright acidity and a long finish, which shows the barest hint of oak. This may be my favorite of the Siduri appellations in 2007. It feels like the most complete wine at this stage. A-

  • Screw Cap bottle. Nice ruby color with a dark blood red like core. Nose gives off sweet maraschino cherries, touches of baking spices, cinnamon, tobacco, anise and hints of toasty oak. This wine was a bit big at first but calmed down a in the glass with air. Bright red fruits on the palate with cranberry, pomegranate and strawberry. Nice streak of acidity with decent weight makes this nice and round. A touch of tannin on the back end all wrapped up with more spice, mild oak and tons of fruit. Smallest touch of heat is noticeable which did blow off with air. This wine is still rather large with medium body and weight. It could use a year or two in the bottle but very enjoyable now.

  • TnP. Nice dark garnet. Lovely nose of red and dark berries/fruit, some funk, spice and vanilla/oak. Soft round medium intensity fruit with lacy acidity and light tannins. Lacks complexity, but has a bit of finesse and is a couple of notches beyond pleasant.

  • Popped and poured - shared with 4 others so only one glass tasted. Rich and well structured, this was a full-bodied pinot with dark berry, cranberry, earth, minerals, spice and oak flavors. Nothing flabby or elegant about this bottle, it was almost brawny for a pinot - slightly chewy with good structure and a rich, fruity, slightly acidic finish. A different style and very enjoyable.

  • Still showing well, but a little more hollow on the midpalate and showing a little less complexity then previous. 89-90 points tonight.

  • Poured a glass then decanted. While the first glass was ok, the notes that follow are on the vastly improved 2nd glass after about 40 minutes of airtime. Cherry on the nose; joined by red berry on the palate. just a hint of spice that made it interesting (more like a cinnamon spice). This bottle really got better with a little airtime. It filled out, nice use of french oak gave a slight hint of mocha caramel to the finish. Nice acidity and a very velvety mouthfeel turned this into a winner. I'd call it an 89-90 pointer and a very good QPR as it was bought for <$24...I would but again if I could find more at that price...

  • Different on opening from a prior bottle. This was medium to full-bodied right out of the bottle. Somewhat muted nose of dark cherry, dried herbs and a touch of earth. Red berry/cherry fruits dominate, with some spice and mineral. Nicely balanced with a smooth mouthfeel, bright acidity and slightly drying tannins. Improved with 30-45 min. of airtime. I think I will give it another year in the bottle.

  • Continues to drink well and be a solid value. Drink over short to medium term. Consistent with prior notes. 90

  • Very elegant, featuring cranberries, herbs, and minerals. Medium-bodied, with a long, expressive finish. Just shy of outstanding, IMHO.

  • Needs some air - and was decanted. What started as a slightly tart, light bodied, medium red-fruit pinot turned into a full-bodied dark-fruit wine with depth and multiple layers. It took 45-60 minutes to open up and reveal its depth and body. Ultimately very nice, but took a while.

  • Nice, well-rounded pinot. Good amount of funk and acidity pairs well with food.

  • This was very good and drinkable now. Very light and fruity. Drank it over four days with vacuvin, and it was best on day 4. May need a bit more time, because I would rate day 4 as a 93 pointer. It came out of it's shell.

  • Continues to impress. Intense nose of floral notes, herbs, hint of funk and with fruit undertones. Palate is smooth, with some perceptible tannins in the background. Very fruit forward at the stage, with plenty of black cherry and blackberry notes and some asian spices. Herbal finish showing touch of earth on medium to long finish. Fruit forward and fun at this stage, I think this will pull together over the next few years and show more of the herbal spiciness and gain complexity.

  • Really bright pure nose of cherry, raspberry and touch of meat and smoke. palate is dense, with red fruits and nice acidity holding together nicely on the finish with a little oak, red fruit and mineral. Should integrate and improve nicely over the next few years.

  • Solid effort. Reasonable complexity. Red fruit, earth, light spice.

  • by the glass at Cova, lighter color than the AP Vin Gary's beside it, spiced cranberry on the nose, red fruits with mod tannins, finished very light...very drinkable, but perhaps too young at the moment, seems that things need to meld together...still one of the best rrv qprs...

  • 14.3% alcohol. I wanted to take an early look at this wine because I hadn't had any of the Siduri 2007s from bottle yet, other than a brief taste of the excellent Sonoma County at Pinot Days. I had tasted plenty of the final blends from tank, prior to bottling. But something always happens when wine goes into a bottle, and it's important to keep tabs. In any case, on to the wine. Opened 30 minutes before drinking but not decanted. Unlike 2005 and 2006, which had some funk, this wine didn't have any noticeable on the nose. Beautiful, shimmering red color. Lovely bouquet of black cherry, baking spice, savory earth, and minerals. Youthful, but not grapey. In the mouth, this is a striking wine, and it confirms my best hopes for the vintage. Extremely well focused, with excellent concentration. Black cherry and ripe strawberry fruit start off the palate, with tremendous texture but nowhere near an excess of ripeness. Then the complexity comes into the fold, even at this youthful stage. It has terrific acidity and a long finish. No heat. No overly intrusive oak. A wine that puts together all the component parts: up-front fruit, complexity, smashing balance, and an ideal hybrid of feminine elegance and masculine power. This is Pinot Noir. And I realize its a bit of an overly done note for an appellation wine, but I'm familiar enough with the Siduri lineup in 2007 that this bodes extremely well of things to come. This will be a vintage that will need some bottle age, even more so than 2005 or 2006. Marvelous wine and a sign of greatness to come from 2007. A-

  • Might be too early to critique this wine, it was a good pinot... strong notes of raspberry and strawberry on the nose with a handful of freshly raked earth. A very ripe and big pinot, on the palate it was a bit hot and disjointed, a streak of alcohol mixes in with strawberry (light) oak jam with meager tannins and a tinge of barnyard. Decent finish, but it's really not worth $30... but how many $30 pinots really are worth $30? *hum*

  • One of my favorite qprs in the Siduri lineup year in and year out. Popped this one tonight at Mirepoix in celebration of another fantastic open house from the gang at Siduri. By far the best RR bottling to date for me. Dried cherry, raspberry, a tad of funk, wonderful forest floor, clear and clean fruit with an earthiness not usually found in this bottling. A multi-dimensional wine that would stand up to most of the RR pinot out there. With the roasted chicken and panzella bread salad it was sublime. What a nice surprise. Plenty of structure. From this and my experience at the open house today, 2007 looks extremely promising for Siduri. Great work once again Adam!
