Nese med Solbær, stall, (brett), blyantspiss og lær. Flaska har bra med konsentrasjon i forhold til alder og produsent. Mye stall gjorde at vi konkluderte med brett, men ble usikre om det var en sliten moden vin eller brett. 88.

xSo here I am, drinking the last bottle of my first case purchase. In truth there is another bottle but being as sentimental as I tend to be I expect I will not drink that bottle, or at least will not drink it while it’s delivering as much pleasure as it has tonight. The fill on this bottle was still into the neck, and the cork remained pliant and clean on the top. Some previous bottles had suffered a bit from less than perfect seals but this wine was as good as it could be tonight. Upon opening the color was ruby and bright with only the faintest edge of brassiness. The nose offered up not a hint of decay and such a surprisingly sweet burst of fruit from the bottle, joined quickly by rich notes of tea and humus all earthy and slightly leathery toned with hints of fading spice and cold stone adding nuance.
Still with a tinge of tannin in the mouth, this is a touch tight early on the palate hinting at a lovely if fading core of sweet red currant and strawberry tinged fruit. A touch of greenness frames the nose with air as the palate, elegant and gentle, reveals nuanced mineral notes and hints of darker fruit, earthy spice and licorice on the backend before fading softly on a slightly medicinal red cherry note. This just gets better with air, its frail frame filling in with red currant fruit and gaining a silky texture. After about an hour the tannins begin to pierce that tender gauze of fruit, as the nose show more of a smoky black tea and gunpowder character while still retaining retreating currant fruit. The elegance gently leaves the palate, earthy fruit remains with spice and vegetal accent notes, as this draws the curtains on a wonderful performance, a beautiful arc of evolution.
At its peak this certainly pushed 90pts tonight, perhaps 91-92pts with a bit of sentimentality, though by the end we were back where most bottles have performed, still lovely but perhaps more typically past peak and somewhere in the 82-86 point range depending on one’s palate.
From a bottle with bottom neck fill and the cork still in very good condition. Nice mature claret- dusty, cedar, tea, fine tannins, and medium acidity. Elegant and charming, a nice sipping wine with some sweetness in the palate. Probably about 10 years past its peak even with the perfect bottle condition, but still hanging on to some dried fruit notes.

Very nice showing of this humble little '82. Needed to shake off a few cobwebs, but after that it's a satisfyingly rich and fully mature bottle of Bordeaux. No more fruit left in this - it's all earth, broth, and old wood - but still plenty of séve and even sweetness.

Still holding well as one might expect from an -82, a classic claret although not as complex as more expensive Bordeaux wines from this vintage. Very good showing for the price.

A powerhouse old world style fruit bomb, drinking very well now and will last for many years, together with the -86 Poujeaux's strongest vintage of the 1980s.

Perfectly stored bordeaux which proved a wonderful suprise after these many years with deep garnetcolor.fine bouquet.full bodied with blackcurrant fruit and and long finish most of which disappeared 15 minutes after decanted so be prepared to drink just after the cork is pulled...

Moderately deep crimson with bright brickish rim. Earth and dried roses on the noses, and similar notes on the palate, along with faded red fruit in the background. Nice acidic structure and some length, pleasant enough but drink up.

Very aromatic with violets, cedar and leather. The palate shows silky black cherry, with olive, sage and a slightly fading finish with resolved tannins. This was quite impressive, especially as it was drunk from half bottle.

The wine wears a dark robe with fading orange at the rim. The nose is that of mature, classic, old school Bordeaux with underbrush, cassis, smoke and maple syrup. The palate is a little disjointed at first but comes together after a splash decant to show lean, firm entry and dusty tannic finish. The wine has fruit to cover the strong tannins and is destined for the table to be at its best. I remember this wine being large-scaled and this bottle confirms this. Remarkable, really, given the '82 vintage characteristics. Based on memory the wine has lost fat and tightened up. This is rough-and-tumble Bordeaux at its best!

From a half bottle, this stinks of mushrooms at first, but after that blows off the nose is mellow yet expressive, with the fruit holding well and nicely accented by warm cinnamon spice. In the mouth, it's broad, round, and totally delicious. An impressive showing, especially given the format.

Vertical tasting - Poujeaux (FOF): Light Coca-Cola color on the edge, but still a fairly good deep red color towards the center. Very nice for this age. Some blackcurrant, cherry and herbs on the nose. At first very light on the palate, but the aftertaste really bring in some good stuff. Still some fruit and herbs, but also well aged tastes such as tobaco and leather. Good balance and harmoni. This is probably as good as it gets, while still having some years left.

Barnyard. Juicy and compact wine. Creamy oak. High acidity. Lost all its power, but is still enjoyable. At the end of its life. This was my blind TN; after seeing which wine it was I wondered if this wine has been stored too warm, because I expected this wine to be more powerful. I score it anyway, but this was much higher in the past.

With D. Leiming at home trying to set up my computer. Good medium ruby color. Slight brick at the rim. Good legs. Plump, spicy fruit. Good flavor. But not great. 5-9-13-5: 82/100.

Decent colour, good smoky nose. Still lovely and drinkable, as good Poujeaux, curiously less grippy at end than VCC 86 tho lnot as fine a wine.

1982 Bordeaux tasting; 11/5/2010-11/6/2010 (Bremen, Germany): Poujeaux is always showing very well in tastings. This bottle of 1982 was no exception. Tobacco, vanilla, fruit and a dry but elegant finish.
