Rich apple with plenty of lemon in complex and engaging combination. Rich start, bright and long finish. Very good now. Better than my previous bottle from one year ago.

Apple and lemon on nose and palate with good weight and length with a mineral-driven finish. Slightly less brightness and energy than I’d expect from old vine Chablis 1er Cru from a very good vintage. Bought on release, well stored since.

This is prematurely oxidized. Tastes too caramel, with VA and not enough minerality - I don't think I would guess Chablis blind. Acid is high, but the wine is a mess. I'm somewhat comforted to read these notes from others who have experienced the same thing, but I'm pissed that I cellared this bottle for 7 years. That space could have been put to better use!

Not my style -- sure tastes like it's been oaked, at least there's some sort of funk going on here, which I associate with wood. If that's your style, you'll like this one well enough. Give me one with clarity and zing and acid that will take the enamel off your teeth... This ain't it. Money poorly spent.

Much more solid with an underpinning of lemony vanilla that suggested some wood, although I doubt it saw any. Drink now, its the best window I've seen for this wine.

Aromas are nice, showing plenty of sweet lemon, unripe melon rind, and some sweet canned pumpkin meat. Fairly luscious and creamy aromas. Palate is very smooth and round, offering nice light minerality and light acid, flavors are turning towards some aged lemon, funky melon, and some quartzy minerality that develops as its held on the tongue. There is a slight funky metallic notion, but the longer it's held in the mouth the more the acidity and minerality dial up and become the dominant play. Finish attacks with acidity, but texturally it's quite round and smooth here too. This juxtaposition is nice, as the mouth feels smooth and round, but the flavors lingering are quite sharp. All told the wine is nice, but at the same time there seems to be a level of overall excitement that is lacking. I was intending on aging these for some more time, but I'm not sure they'll develop positively from here. Overall things are drinking fairly well today, and I'm not quite feeling the structure to leave these as long term agers. Clearly there is some bottle variation or premature oxidation going on with some of these because the low scoring notes below certainly don't describe what's in this bottle. Hopefully I have more positive bottles in the future.

Barely good enough for cooking at this point. Not enjoyable to drink and similar notes to previous tastings. I did not like this bottling at any point and should not have bought so many untasted from Garagiste.

Flint, white peach, lemon oil, verbena nose. Nearly oily palate with some lemon creme, pennies, and salted caramels. Really tasty, my only complaint is a dilute, washed out sense on the finish.

very pale - does not seem aged at all. Restrained nose, shows some minerality, wet stones, a little apple. Palate is also pretty mineral, lemon, good whack of acidity, bracing, but tasty. Maybe a little dilute, but not flabby at all. Very tasty and worth the price paid. Not sure it has much upside however.

Pathetic watered down apple piss, crabapple with out the acidity, a flaccid, over cropped heap of dung that is best not drunk. Horrible! Drink now or better yet, cook with it. Crap.

I'm hoping this was sleeping or in a closed phase because this was unpleasant. It did have a nice lime streak throughout but was dominated by a stinky cheese flavor. I like stinky cheese but this was a bit much and did not have enough acidity to lift it up. 1/2 bottle leftover to try later.

Fall 2013 Housecleaning: Part of cellar sorting day. One that did not disappoint. No, it's not a "wow" wine, and probably not for my tastes as good as the BH 91-93 rating. But it's solid with a nice balance of fruit and acid. Slightly tannic on the finish. A level of oxidization that seems roughly appropriate given the age of the bottle, but enough that I get the sense this isn't a long term aging candidate. Drink now - 2016.

This was wonderful, especially the hint of bitter at the end. A restrained, middle aged Chablis the way it's supposed to be. If your guests are used to California Chardonnay, they will be surprised.

- Yellow color and aromas of lemon, orange blossom and geranium and has flavours of lemon with a long finish - Wet stones on the palate. Nice balance. I love Chablis that smells so good that I sniff for 20 minutes before even taking a sip. It is wines such as these that make me hesistant to unsubscribe from Garagiste. Don't remember how much I paid, but it wasn't much.

I like how this Chablis has lost its baby fat, much more mineral and flint aromas and flavors, still containing the rich fruit profile of the 2007 vintage. Very nice.

- Yellow color and aromas of cut green grass and geranium. It's lacking fruit and has flavours of peach - I think this is a bit off. RaNae disagrees. If not for her I'd throw it away. We shall see. Barely anything on the nose and on the palate I'd guess a subtle California SauvBlanc if I were doing it blind. Disappointing.

This wine was much like the 2008 Vrignaud Chablis Premier Cru Fourchaume, but a touch more elegant and restrained as far as the citrusy component. Not sure that it was any better, just different. I liked them both. I'd give this a 92 or so.

4th Saturday group "uptown" tasting (Joe P's): Very pale color. Aromas of citruss and grass with an odd flavors profile...something like what I remember my parents' bottles of Lancer's tasting like. Guessed Sauv Blanc, as did most of the group. One taster actually got Chardonnay out of this, but I'll say he peaked at the label.

A soft, delicate nose of pears and flint. While the palate delivers some solid chablis characteristics of citrus and flint, this wine just seemed to lack any real character or snap that I so adore in a good Chablis. A late note of oxidized sherry distracted as well.

Having had a very nice experience with the ‘regular’ 07 Fourchame, I was eager to give the VV version a spin from this producer. Texturally, this is a very light and agile wine, but packs a decent punch of citrus skin and a rich brothy profile, decent minerality, and cleansing finish. Upon reflection, a very good premier cru for sure, but I think I actually preferred the more nervy and tension of the regular Fourchame vs. this VV version.

Light pale gold. Light lemon, very mineral and what I'll describe as subtle "hand lotion" (my own esoteric way to try and pinpoint the minerality). More mineral flavors in the mouth yet surprisingly oily texture. Acid is definitely there, but not overwhelming - nice balance. Very enjoyable.
