Three bottles opened one after another. All had volatile acidity flaw, smelled like turpentine, the one least affected was very corked. None was close to drinkability, even if one were to accept a less than perfect wine. What is annoying is that a bottle of Les Clos 2001 Delas Freres Crozes Hermitages opened today too also smelled of turpentine. A 2007 Chateaneuf du Pape Haut Pierre of Delas Freres also opened today is drinkable and needs overnight breathing to better judge tomorrow. In all my time of collecting and storing fine wines of over twenty years, I have had volatile acidity once prior and now four bottles from two vintages from the same producer is s bit much.

Served as part of a blind tasting of shiraz/syrah. Stood out immediately. Floral nose and sweet tobacco that is quite fetching. In the mouth a bit lean compared with the other new world shiraz in the tasting. Excellent drink.

Bill's Summer Garden Offline (Vancouver, BC): Medium red in colour. At first lots of manure and barnyard notes but those eventually blew off leaving nice aromas of meat, dark fruits, bacon and pepper. Nice length and well balanced. Drinks well now and will age and develop further. Excellent.

Colour - Redish purple. Nose - Green pepper, meat, red current. Body - Medium. Palette - Fruit is there, but not substantial. Softer tannins; well intergrated. Abit bitter. Also some pepper. Noticeably syrah.

A: Little Perfume, Sweet Spice, almost a Popuri had that "dried" kickass soap quality, Lavander, Cinnamon, Sasspraella. Dark Fruit, Instant Coffee [dash], Earthy, Leather, Tobacco fresh
T: Good High Acid, Red Fruit Cranberries, Dark Chocolate med/long finish
Conclusion, Man I was craving Confit duck with this wine, the nose was amazing! 92pts in it self, just buying this to smell is awesome, let it decant for an hr or so before drinking to open up the aromas

Once again a great bottle of this excellent wine, a deal for the price point Nice nose on red fruit, flowers, spices and smoke. The palate is silky smooth, nice sour cherries flavors along with smoke meat, goes down nicely and fast, this is good!!! An Excellent wine and a great value at this price, drink now or wait a few more years...why wait this is good NOW!!!

New Year's Eve 'No Theme' Blind Tasting (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind – pronounced nose of black and red fruits, black olives, oaky notes and some funk. Flavours of tart cranberries. This must be a younger wine. Lots of sourness. Medium tannin and body with a shorter and austere finish. I was shocked when this was revealed as were a few other people who have had this wine before. Average.

Opened for one hour then served. Medium, almost dark ruby in colour. On the nose there's noticeable oak (vanilla) but the good kind and there's enough fruit to balance it out. Intense flavours of darker fruits and hints of spice. Medium to full body, medium acidity and tannins. Nice mouth feel. 2 bottles consumed. Drink or hold. Very good. 89+

Nice dark Crimson red hue. The nose is quite expressive, some violets, pepper and some black fruit mainly! The palate shows some blackberries and some minerality, vey smooth tannins and shows a well balanced enseble. Finish is bit on the short side presently but this is still quite young and might improve. An Excellent wine and a great valeu at this price, drink now or wait a few more years!

91 pts

Absolutely stunning. A laser beam of focus cassis, oh so sweet tobacco and saddle leather. This is followed by a medium body dark cherry, mocha finish. A WOTY. Of course, I am being so effusive about this one because of the incredible QPR. Buy by the case. Hopefully, the confusion of the name and the RP score will keep this wine under the radar.
