Interesting reviews over the years. This is pricey in my neck of the woods - 28$ CAN. Pretty old at this point, been sitting on my shelf for a long time.
Nose is creamy oaky vanilla...with some tobacco/leather qualities...palate rings out the same essentially. Very light tannin such that overall experience is smooth and again, approaching a creamy texture. Fruit is overpowered by that darker, earthy note from oak...If you like a heavier wine that is distinct with the 7 yr old oak, you would like this. A little to much for me. I would not suggest holding for longer, although will last likely till 2015...just don't think will improve.
Let this open for 30 to 60 mins and serve after being in fridge for like 30 mins...

i was a bit disappointed in this. It was reasonably well balanced and smooth, with a crisp finish but it lacked a backbone and was far less full-bodied than anticipated. I expected more, not good value.

From 375ml. Pop 'n pour. Nice, typical Chilean cab nose of currant, dust, and menthol. Not sure about the over oaked comment from a previous note, but this bottle sure didn't show that much oak, which I'm very sensitive to. Sure, there is some detectable oak of the sweet variety, but really no woody flavors that I usually associate with heavy oak treatment. Perhaps it has integrated since release. Other that that this was quite creamy and showed some rich red currant with good acidity. Tasted a little bit "manipulated", but overall, was quite nice and enjoyable.

Nice fruit forward, well balanced, blend. Bold yet subtle on the pallate with not much tannin, yet a nice long finish with nuances of the chilean terrior and a hint of spice. Shows much better after a good decant.

Decanted for 90 min. Sour tartness of cherry on the nose that transitioned to a blend that had multiple layers through the mid-section. Would have given a higher rating but the beginning was too funky!

Not quite as exciting as I'd hoped, since we've had some really exceptionally good blends from Chile. This is certainly professionally crafted and a good QPR, but not as memorable as some of the other entries that we've tasted. The nose, to my sense, is dominated by blackberry, the color is really intriguing with a nice black red hue. The Carmenere imparts a nice overtone to the blend, but I don't feel a strong sense of spice, or a sense of intriguing flavors and tastes that lasts into the aftertaste stage. So, better than most restaurant wines, and worthy of purchase at a good price. The flavor is more or less typical, to my taste, of a Cab and Carmenere mix, the Syrah and Merlot add body, but less to the taste.

I thought this bottle rocked, but you have to like carmenere. If you like carmenere, it's a full-bodied burst of earthy and fruity and dark flavors and I would totally buy it again, especially for the price.

This is a very solid bottle of wine for the price. Rather vegetal on the nose to start, but that eventually fades revealing classic bordeaux aromas. The Syrah adds some richness. The fruit particularly shines with food. I bought this wine for 12 bucks and felt that it was money well spent.

A little barnyard and alcohol on the nose. I think still a little young for this bordeaux blend. Might be a touch oaky but after an hour in the decanter it's not completely off putting. Wish I had another bottle to try in a year, to see if it got better or worse.

Not impressive at all. Nose is full of spice and mocha with hints of smoked wood. In the mouth a somewhat unbalanced and fiery finish. Unfortunately still have one more.

Modern and focused aromas of cedar, black raspberry, tobacco, and oak. Medium concentration with slightly drying tannins (a touch green, but well masked) and a subtle chocolate note on the finish. It's definitely from Chile, but about as exciting as Bass Ale.

Lots of ripe berries, though nicely balanced by tannins. Slight oak flavor is detectible but not overpowering. Did not notice the acidity as much as some other reveiwers. Would definitely drink this wine again.

A disappointing experience! I expected an acceptable character and balance wine; I only found an acidic juice with only one impressive feature, its enticing color. Probably too young, but I never tasted a wine so acid as this one. Such sensation lasted the next day. Also overpriced, a much better quality wine is Palo Alto Reserva for almost $10 less (same blend and from Chile).

I cannot rate this any lower than 90 when the Veramonte 2005 Cabernet Merlot impressed me so much. This could only get could only get better, but only by a bit. This is richer, had more structure and complexity with just the right balance of fruit finishing with supple tannins and a hint of spice and tobacco. Good value for the price. Drink from 2009 to 2014.

Deep, dark reddish purple color. Nose of primary blackberry and deep dark fruit aromas. The palate is full with good depth and grip. Good structure and lots of ripe dark fruit. Good acidity and a lasting finish. A quality wine - Great QPR

This was my all time favorite red wine. Unfortunately I can't find this vintage any longer. The reason I liked it is because of the % of the blends.
