  • Clear, medium gold colour.

Clean, developing nose with medium+ intense aromas of nuts, walnut, honey, macadamia nuts, fennel, marzipan, tropical fruit, pineapples, mango and yellow apples. Smells very yellow! There is a distinct oxidative touch to it as well as plenty of ML-Fermentation.

Very dry and chalky on the palate with medium acidity, medium alcohol and a medium body. The flavour intensity is medium+ with lots of nuts, liquorice, honey and tropical fruit.

This is a wine of very good quality. Drinks very well now and I can't see this getting that much better with age, but the potential for a long cellaring is undoubtedly there.

I found this to be a good example of where I confuse MLF with oak treatment. This is a blend of several Chablis parcels, but only blended and fermented on stainless steel tanks. My first reaction to this wine was "oak!".

Anyhow this is some superb stuff. And I would love to try this, and other vintages of this wine again!

  • Monthly Tasting Group HWS #091; Burgundy: Chablis with Oysters. (By WW): Drank from magnum. Beautiful and rich bouquet with minerals and good citrus. On the palate nicely dry and focused with good citrus, minerals and pleasant bitterness. A beautiful Chablis.
