A delicious, jammy, fruit bomb? A little bit. At 15 years, this Barossa Valley Shiraz is still extremely fruit forward, with tertiary scents and flavors simultaneously in full effect. The nose shows plum, fig, warm leather, brown sugar, and candied chocolate orange.
Palate offers spades of over-extracted black and blue fruits. It’s extremely round, almost flabby. Very little detectable acidity, giving an impression of sweetness. If you like big wines, you’ll love this.

3 hour decant. A very Torbreck wine. Big, rich, ripe, and for this 07 hot year jammy and slightly over extracted black Western Barossa fruits. Viognier not overly present, however there is a sense of muskiness it provides, underpinning the dense, full bodied palate. Medium finish. Drinking well now.

Super bottle. Great nose, although needed coaxing. Huge wine, a touch flabby. Very smooth. Interesting floral aromas and a hint of passion fruit. Quite unique.

A friend brought this to our 1/19/13 lamb dinner. It had a wonderfully fragrant bouquet of floral, smoked meat, blackberry, black olive, spice and mineral aromas. The palate was dense, full and round with flavors of blackberry, plum, black olive, spice and minerals. My score was 92+. Our group’s average score was 92.7 points.

Dusty plums, clove, baking spice, dried herbs and black pepper. Pretty unctuous stuff. Very ripe, succulent juicy core of plum moves to intense dry fruit black fruit flavor. Big dusty tannins and classic pepper finish.

Shiraz with 8% Viognier; complex mineral notes, floral, spice, and everything nice notes; lithe in the mouth, high acidity, silky, very nice fine tannins too; pretty big, with some apparent oak, but well integrated.

Inky purple to black in colour, the wine is restrained and somewhat closed with dark fruits and hint of earth. The palate on the other hand is full and rich, with plum, dark cherry, cedar and spice on show.
Inky purple and opaque colour. Attractive nose of christmas pudding, black fruit, cloves and a touch of smoke. Palate a sumptuous blend of mid-sweet dark cherry, plums and spice with a lovely fine-grained tannic finish. Delicious now, but will probably drink well for 5-10 years+

Australia Trip: Tasted at the winery. A young wine with heavy tannins which should soften with a few more years in the bottle. Good times ahead for this wine! Heady nose of dark fruit with notes of vanilla and earth. Flavors of blackberries, cassis, floral and spice notes. (Doris 94)

Very unusual sweet from this difficult vintage. Tasted at cellar door with some breathing on that bottle, it was like a jelly fruit bomb into my face.... wow i never ever tasted this sweet shiraz before bar the dessert ones.... it was quite monolithic but very concentrated for 07 vintage & the sweetness lasted all the way down to quite a long finish.... next day i tried it again with new bottle, it was very close & quite bitter in comparison so if you want to ride the sweet bomb rollercoaster, this is the one to have fun with but needs few hours to start enjoying it.... good luck

A great Aussie Shiraz. Less dense than an Astralis or Run Rig, but preferable to me. Polished of in one sitting.

Well, out of the Factor and the Struie this one offers something more than rasination on the nose. A touch more fresh if you will.

Wine-Ark Cellar Club Tasting 6 - June 2011, Tapanappa, Torbreck (Roof Terrace Australian Museum): Colour: Purple, high intensity, legs
Nose: Perfumed and green peppercorns, black fruit. Youthful
Mouth: Meidum minus black fruit and black pepper, chalky tannin, slightly charred oak. Young but, perhaps, lacks fruit
