2021 FTLOP Harvest Tour; 9/19/2021-10/2/2021 (Portgugal): Dark purple in color with garnet around the edges. Blueberry, cassis and nice herbal notes on the nose. Red currant and boysenberry on the mid-palate, giving way to chocolate notes on the finish. Extremely balanced sweetness, acidity, and tannins. The finish is very long.

drank over 4 days. Almost black, not very much nose, integrated tannines, but very young. Not much development over 4 days (under cork). So, next bottle in 5 years.

A wonderful young port. My problem with Vesuvio is that I am always tempted by infanticide. These are so good when they are young. With a little accompanying chocolate, the red fruit flavors really pop, with a dark wild cherry expressing itself. I need to find more, as I feel this will evolve well for many years.

Popped and poured. Concentrated nose with blueberries and blackberries, fig and sweet spice. Still youthful but not unyielding. Palate is smooth with soft tannins, unnoticeable alcoohol and perfectly balanced acidity. Not overtly sweet it is drinking well now and can accompany finger food nicely. Will need time to gain complexity however. Good wine!

Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2010-09; Portugal (By EvA): Really beautiful in its youth stage. Pure and concentrated blackberry juice. Silky soft tannin. (This will be beautiful with rare stake for the next 2 - 3 years!!) It is so beautiful now, but it will almost certainly close down somewhere between 2012 and 2014. Drink some of your bottles in this wonderful drinking stage and keep the rest for after 2023. A beauty already and a great promise! 93 - 95+

Tasted over 4 days with a 3-hour decant on the first evening.
Blackberry, some mild blueberry, and some black raspberry on the nose, all of which carry over into the mouth to some extent. Also some dust and/or minerals on the nose. The berry flavors are brighter and more tart than their corresponding smells. Powerful but smooth tannins and good acidity do a good job of balancing the fruits at this early stage. Medium sweet and medium full bodied.
Very consistent over the 4 days, receiving 94, 94, 93, and 94 points. Another outstanding effort from QdV.

2007 Ports at Beltramos: Medium ripe, beautiful complexity, decent structure, a bit more forward and "ready" than I'd like for a bottle meant to age decades.

Vintage Port Tasting with Dominic Symington of Symington Family Estates (Martin Wine Cellar, Metairie, LA): Dense, deep, dark, and brooding, yet with a bit of mineral on the nose, this great vintage port brings great floral character, with violets, lavendar, plum, intense white pepper on the backdrop, and great black cherry aromas. The palate is richer, hotter, very concentrated, with a touch of bourbon. It is young, with surprisingly good smooth tannins on its long long finish. Will surely shine even brighter in its promising future.

Strong bitter vegetal nose. Sweet on the palate, but still a bit of smoke that lingers.

Wine & Spirits Top 100 Tasting- Brief Notes (San Francisco Design Center): Excellent nose. Sweet, spicy, fruity, and complex. Palate has lovely balance, good flavor, and a finish that is at first intense, then has sweetness.

Very intense fruit with strong herbaceous notes; great texture and concentration on the palate. Intense! Nice length - this could be outstanding.
