Relatively young, with some dusty cherries on the nose .Typical sangiovese with nice acidity and some bitterness. Structured but very simple. Not a re-buy. 85-86

App: medium deep pale red with brick rim. Aroma: cherries, earth, spice and oak. Medium-bodied- with good acidity and medium tannins. Cherries, licorice, vanilla and oak on the palate. Good length.

Quickie at ES (Extra Space, Singapore): Lighting quick taste before I left. This came across as a pleasant, unobtrusive wine, but certainly one for the casual lunch rather than in a proper dinner setting. Cherry candy on the nose was seasoned with some Italian herbs and a little dash of varnished wood. More sweet cherries on the palate, some tomato-ish acid, all nice and fresh, with some earth and herbs as the wine moved into its sweetish finish, where more candied cherries were mixed in with some bittersweet bits. Not one I would rush out to buy, but quaffable enough.

Very happy with this wine. Great cherry profile coming through. A nice first course wine or at least leading up to wines with more structure, tannins, and darker fruit flavors.

nose: pretty nose and very sangiovese with red cherries, herbs, crushed berries, and a touch of violets. Very nice nose with decent depth and is very chianti when you smell it
taste: very good medium feel with nice tones of red cherries, crushed berries, some italian herbs and a touch of berries. Medium+ acidity, but is a bit hollow on the mid palate without food
overall: I popped this and let it sit open for about an hour. This worked great with a risotto and was much better with food then on its own. A nice and affordable chianti that is perfect for food

1 hour decant. Yeasty when I sniffed the wine in the decanter, but this was gone an hour later. On the nose earthy, some fruit. Iren got a hint of vanilla, I didn't but her nose is better than mine... On the palate slightly acidic, still earthy. Not very tannic, short.
"Colli Senesi" means the hills of Siena, and this in my mind conjures up images of the numerous wonderful country cooking meals we've had there and all over Tuscany. This is an unpretentious wine that went extremely well with the equally unpretentious bucatini with mushrooms, pecorini and garlic pasta we had. A very good match, and a great everyday drinker.

Slecht wijnweekend, de gootsteen maakt overuren.
Wijn doet zurig aan. De laatste fles van deze chianti was een stuk beter dan deze.

Florence & Tuscan Holiday; 5/9/2011-5/16/2011 (Florence & Tuscany): Opened from this morning. 92% Sangiovese, 8% Merlot. Tasted side by side with the regular Chianti Classico from Felsina
Nose: Clean nose of red fruit, blood iron and dried herbs. Very typically Tuscan.
Taste: Ripe red fruit, hints of tobacco, earth and herbs. Medium bodied and clean tasting. Nothing terribly memorable but had everything in its place.
