(home tasting) Ruby color, soft nose, spices and quite fruity (plums and raspberries), oak a bit too apparent, it feels very fresh. The mouth is equally round, with bags of fruits and hints of alcohol. It lacks the concentration of the "lodi" label but then again, that was the point of the bottle. Ends in a short aftertaste.

Med/dark purple. Sweet spices, dark berries, chocolate and pepper. Mid-full bodied with soft tanins, nice fruit (on the fresh side) and balancing acidity. Med/long, peppery finish.

Decanted but only 10 minutes before drinking. Would probably have benefited from more time in the decanter - couldn't wait... Lots of unpleasant smells first, then some tobacco that made us a bit more friendly towards it. «Thick», typical zin, but not necessarily typical quality. Unexciting taste. If there's oak we didn't detect it. Had it with cheese; don't know where THAT idea came from... A very basic zin.

Tasted right after Robert Craig Zin. Definitely not as good. Black fruit, Black Cherry, Blackberry, spices, baking spices, American oak possibly, black pepper, some minerals, alcohol - medium, finishes with dark chocolate. Still great value for $10.

Raspberry jam and vanilla on the nose. Blackberry, boysenberry attack followed by a cigar wrapper tobacco and dark chocolate mixture. A little blackberry and celery on the tannic finish. Interesting but a little disjointed as the flavors stop and start. The nose is worth a couple of points.

Blackberry, chocolate, dark cherry nose. Palate is full, attacks with the brambly fruit and then shows some layers of herbs and finishes with chocolate. A little heady, really needs food or a lot of time in the decanter if drinking on its own. Tannin is still evident. Decent value as ever.

Nose of plum, brambles, and blackberry with hint of spice. Clear ruby-garnet in color. Chewy flavors of gobs of red fruit, oak, and spice with long finish and good tannins. A reliable house wine to always have around.

This is an incredibly reliable zin, always the same year after year (I've been drinking this as a reliable standby since the mid 90's). Berry and peper on the tongue, nice aftertaste, good tannins. Good with cheese, pork chops, burgers.

Opened this with beef tenderloin and veggie kabobs. Garnet in the glass. The nose gave off strawberry, rasberry, blackberry, black pepper, and a hint of chocolate. This is a light to medium bodied wine. You're hit with tart red fruit on the attack, and the tannins come into play on the mid and back of the palate leading to a pleasing finish that features the fruit from the nose with tartness. I was very satisfied for a Zin under $10. It paired well with the meal, and this is something I will definitely buy again.

Beautiful, dark, vivid ruby-garnet colour. Not a very expressive nose, though there's dried cherry, some spice and heat, and slight tartness.
Tasted, it's very smooth with velvety soft tannins. Flavours of cherry, toasted oak, and vanilla. Nicely full-bodied. Fruity without being punchy. And it's not too hot to drink, despite the nose. Excellent QPR.

Nice basic Zin. Used half the bottle for a BBQ sauce and drank the other half. On the lighter side. Was balanced pretty well for an under $10 Zin but wasn't that complex. Very easy to drink. Will probably buy again.

Rich purple in colour this wine showed sweet red berry fruit, oak and a hint of white pepper on the nose. The palate was medium bodied and mouth filling. I found soft red fruit characters, liquorice and vanilla.

Paired with seafood at BoneFish - and was excellent. Zin was light enough to please the casual wine drinkers and was interesting enough for those of us who love wines. Very light red - maybe dark pink color and a moderate fruity taste - low tannin and not very complex. But it did go down well with the seafood and we did quite enjoy it.

Zinfandel that has a light cherry red look in the glass. It has a dusty raspberry smell mixed with spice and cottage cheese, pepper, with cherry sprinkled in. It tastes mildly peppery, raspberry, radish, cherry, with tight tannin and a bit of acidity and faint chalk at the end. It is very good but could use a bit more structure and juiciness. Great for the price. $10. Goes well with a burger.
