Zombie Wines at Terra Rossa (Terra Rossa, Islington): Few notes taken, towards the end of evening. What I can decipher says deep medium red. Sweet fruit, dark cherry, pomegranate, bay leaf, herbs. I recall it being rather lovely actually, very decent.

Decanted, consumed over several hours. This was fantastic the first hour or so, very expressive on the nose and front palate, falling short on the med to end. It fell apart and became disjointed and tart after 2 hours. I remember having this about 10 yrs ago and it was beautiful front to back. Drink now,

Nice garnet colour with just the beginning of orange hue at the rim. Nose of dark berries , full mouth feel with good length. At peak I think. Decanted 1 hour. Enjoyed with steaks and mushrooms.

Mature Bordeaux with lots of cedar and graphite. Some brownish in the color, Very nice with Beef Stroganoff. I would be drinking these as the fruit is fading.

'02 bordeaux doesn't seem to get much love but this wine is really quite nice at this 12 year point and IMHO has years ahead of it. Color is a crystal clear garnet with no signs of age. Nicely balanced with some tannin still in the background. Quite a pleasant surprise for a wine at this price point. on the nose caramel, licorice, black cherry and a little graphite. On the palate dark fruits, cassis, sweet tannin, pepper, cedar, and graphite. Happy to have a couple more bottles.

Still maturing and sits at the intersection of youth and middle age....lots of plump fruits with cocoa powder and spices....sleek finish and very alluring. Lacks the depth of the 2001 but still a beautiful wine that is years away from being fully mature, although right now it has a very hedonistic and enjoyable feel about it.

Im Gas rubinrot mit tollen Schlieren. 4 Stunden dekantiert. Im Mund nicht ganz harmonisch, Kirsche, Vanille etwas Tabak. Kann sich noch weiter entwickeln.

Had the wine with home cooked Korean dishes. The wine was decanted briefly. Medium body, elegant but not very concentrated. Very pleasant and easy to drink (also good value) but not a very spectacular wine. Also should not have been served with Korean-style marinated beef/pork that has strong and over-powering flavors.

Appearance: Med plus garnet developing Nose Developed. Volatile tingling. Pastilles. Rubbery. Smoke. Licqourice Palate. Med minus fruit. Herbaceous. Light bodied. Med minus tannin. A tasty mature St-Emilion, likely Cab Franc based. Not for those looking for a block buster

Much better than the previous bottle. Rich aroma of dark fruit, leather and a bit of farmyard, dark purple colour and medium to full-bodied. Nice and rounded and velvety on the palate, there is none of the bitter, puckering flavour that I noted in the previous bottle, and this seemed much more full-bodied than last time - weird. I guess the few extra months (and being stored at room temp?) matured this- perhaps the last bottle was also drunk a bit too cold from the wine cellar. Anyway, this wine is drinking very well now and is one I would gladly go back to!

A fairly disappointing Garagiste pick, perhaps it's just not my style. Definitely "Old World", with a powerful aroma (dark fruit, leather, farmyard funk) that is let down by the taste. Flavours of dark cherries, loads of alcohol and a slightly bitter, puckering tannin-heavy finish. Fairly light-bodied. Not really smooth of well-integrated, and too overpowering for my tastes. Time may soften this and make it more drinkable (I can only hope!)

Very well made, balanced, and delicious wine. Dark red berries, herbs, minerals, and a bit of chocolate. Plush texture. Drinking well now but should continue to develop.

Similar note as earlier this month. Real pleasure after 2 hours air - which this bottle needed as came direct from cellar. There is genuine disagreement about this wine - no, it's not especially complex, but it has filled out, added more black fruit and a wonderful, lush velvet cocoa over the last year. Given the vintage, excellent value, and starting to drink v. well.

Wonderful showing and a real surprise. Has developed some flesh over the last year, blackcurrent and cocoa, velvet, longer finish than I remember. Outstanding.

Three Ladies of Bordeaux (San Francisco): Smooth and very straightforward. Great fruit and nice acidic balance. Very little tannin evident. Seems ready to drink now.

This is a very pleasant wine with the potential to improve over the next few years a bit of bitterness on the finish that should smooth out with a bot of time. Very nice nose with good cherry on the palate but not as rich as I had hoped.

Zombie wines of North London (Terra Rossa): Quite ripe (especially for a 2002), and sweetish, with a touch of truffle. Again, didn't make a huge impression.
