Opened 8h prior. Good fruit on the nose with a touch of 'stalk' early. Nice berry fruit with softening tannins. Orange flavours developed on the end taste. Good food wine - better than expected for an '08. Tasted with Simon March (Evington's Wines) at Grand Union Wine Society.

Middels varm rød, blek brun kant. Klar. Aroma av treverk, blyantspiss og gjemt bak, modne mørke bær. Behagelig syre. Rolige, men markerte tanniner. Middels fyldig med grei lende, noe ubalansert. Merkes i ettersmaken at det er en moden vin, muligens litt over toppen. Har ikke samme struktur og kropp som 2005. Drikk nå.

- Crimsom color and aromas of blackberry, hay/straw and black currant. It's lacking fruit and has flavours of dusty with a medium body. Leathery texture with a medium finish - There is a lot of texture, and not enough fruit.

- Crimsom color with slow forming legs and aromas of blackberry and black currant. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of black currant with a medium/full body. Leathery texture with a medium finish - Still alot of tannins, would benifit from more years in the cellar, 3+y, (375ml)

Monthly tasting club LTC 2014-01; a mixed set (@ SO): Cherries and red and dark forest fruits in the bouquet. On the palate mainly red fruits, bell pepper and a lot of acidity. Vanilla and bitterness from the oak. Probably wise to wait with this wine until 2017 or 2018. 86+

Well bred claret nose, sweet cassis, a touch of oak, and leather. Medium on the palate, good fruit, generous but not flabby. Grainy, grippy and slightly unsettled tannins. Could do well with another couple of years to settle down and gain additional length. Old school claret. Well done

Garnet colour with medium intensity. Lovely, traditional Bordeaux nose. Wonderful bouquet of earth, barnyard, cassis, undergrowth, grass, cedar. The palate is medium bodied, smooth and very well balanced with a fine tannic structure and a cool, medium finish with a classic Bordeaux feel. For me, this represents Bordeaux as I like it. Fruit opens up more and more with air. Drinking very well now, could develop further. Good with food but even as an after-dinner wine. Will probably score higher than 90 with a little additional bottle age. For now: 89+

Popped and poured. Medium bodied. On the nose, blackcurrant, lead pencil - classic Bordeaux. In the mouth, quite soft, with fairly smooth tannins. Good fruit, though doesn't quite match the nose and finish is disappointingly short.
Drinking well now - but think it would keep fairly well.

Decanted 2 hours before serving. Starting to open upp with blackcurrant ledpencil fruit with a hint of mocca and tobacco. Very classic in style, a good value. drink 2012-2018.

This is really herbaceous with some smoke and faint bacon scents. With a good swirl you can get a sniff of some zesty fruit and at times decaying vegetable. Lots of interest. Med bodied. 2008 seems pretty classic. 89.

More red than black fruit with a touch of earth in the nose. This medium bodied, soft, wine should be enjoyed young. I do not think it will improve much with age.

Far away from the '05 level, a muted bouquet, bit lean and a bit sharp in the finish.

Solid non classed Medoc - it was tight initially but after an hour in the glass it opened up. Decant for 2 hours before serving.

Classic, but weak Medoc aromas. Astringent and not very appealing. Can't see this is getting better with cellaring.
