PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs and day 2 -light bright purplish red -expressive candy/gum gamay -high acid, lighter bodied, red gamay fruit spectrum and good minerality, a little bit of complexity but little depth -light, bright, acid-driven Beaujolais, many years of life left

Clear, pale ruby color, nose of red cherry, strawberry, with an earthy/funky note. Bright and lively on the palate, very crisp and easy to drink, good acidity, well structured, medium alcohol and medium bodied. In a good spot now, hitting its stride nicely.

Day 1 - wife thought this tasted muddied and didn't like it, and I have to agree. Has some sour cherry and earth notes, and somewhat bitter and astringent tannins. Not undrinkable, but not good. Day 2 - this has shed much of its mud and bitterness, and has become a fairly typical fruit-forward beaujolais. Some nice cherry and raspberry fruit, still somewhat prominent tannins but much more drinkable.

Very fruity at first with high toned strawberry and raspberry flavors. With about 3 hours of air the fruit smoothed out a bit and became silky and refined. Didn't have much complexity but was incredibly enjoyable.

Winebow Trade Tasting (Palomar Hotel): Great red berry nose with subtle mushroom and spice. Could have easily passed for a 1er Vosne. This had nice depth and was incredibly focused. Open for business with nice floral, mineral and red fruit tones on the palate. With all the hype around 2009, this is a sneaky wine that gives the 2009 a run for its money.

Decanted for four hours. Bright garnet hue with a subtle cherry/vanilla nose (not revealing much as the nose remained very restrained). Wet stone, raspberry with mandarin orange in the mid-palate finishing with prominent green notes. Good acidity and moderate tannins. This may improve, but I am worried about the fruit hanging on.

Agree with DRwine ....."sulfur, thin, astringent" on day 1. I drank about 1/3rd of it and held it for a couple days. Came back to it on day 3 and the reduction on the nose was gone, it had fleshed out and the tanins were placid. This is really nice classic Cru beaujolais but, decant it or do something to get it to open up. Day one will likely be tough if you pop and pour.

Very tight nose, but slight greenhouse-like bouquet. Deep, marrow-like sense on pretty red fruits with minerality and light acidity. Lots of wet stone. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 9/11/10

I was a big fan of the Ch. Thivin from 2003. However, the 2008 displays tart cranberry and acid in the mid palate, with a tin after taste and unpleasant tannins. Without exaggeration, I've tasted better red wine vinegars.
Letting it breathe only made it worse.
My girlfriend asked if she could spit it out. Yes. And the rest got poured down the drain.

Still well within the drinking window. Light ruby color. A bit acidic. Needs to breathe for awhile before consuming.

A damn good bottle of wine. Made me sorry that I drank up all my 2008's. No hurry on these at all. Very good to excellent 87.

Spot on for our own grilled chicken shwarma. A little bit of earth to complement the bright fruit.

Tart red raspberry with plenty of acidity. May need a little time, as without food it is a little aggressive.
