Perfectly mature. Smooth and elegant. Not a very complex and deep wine, but very pleasing and easy drinking. Will drink well for at least five more years.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), mineral, oak, clove, stoniness and cherry. The body is medium/full. The wine has fleshy texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

9.11.2013: Schöner Port, sehr mild und offen, kein alkoholischer Biss, sehr lecker.
28.6.2013: Sehr schöner und aromatischer Port, unglaubliche Dichte, sehr ausgewogen und balanciert, schöne Schokoladennoten
WS90: Delivers sweet berry, violet and prune notes, with a hint of coffee bean. Full-bodied and medium sweet, with focused fruit, chewy tannins, lovely balance and a long finish. Give this some more time. Decant before serving.

375ml, Rated 88 at first, was about 3/4 done with the bottle and forgot about it for a few days. Returned 4 days later and had that last glass, and was blown away by the transformation! semi sweet with blueberry and boysenberry flavors that were perfectly inline with the alcohol and a long finish. A real treat on the 5th day! my advise is lengthy decant at this point. ok with a pop and pour, great after its had some lengthy air time.

Young and brash. Deep purple color with quite a bit of spirit when first opened. Muted nose with a simple, yet enjoyable plum and raisin flavor profile. Medium length. Spirit still poking through a bit on the finish. Good, but not up to the standards of the great 2003 LBV by Niepoort. At $12 for a 375ml bottle, it was a good buy.

Dark purple. Tasted over four days. Nose showed purple and black fruit. Full bodied. Plenty of plum and raisin notes with a hint of root beer. High acidity cuts through the blast of fruit. Sweet flavors to be sure, but fruity rather than cloying. Long finish with some firm tannins.
Nice wine which felt more like a table wine than dessert/fortified.

There is hardly any bouquet,….some dark berries. On the palate the wine is a great pleasure. Soft and smooth. Silky tannin. Pleasant sweetness and ripe mainly dark, but also some red berries. Medium long and warm finish which makes you look forward to the next sip. A really nice and friendly LBV with also some complexity in the mouth. Pity the bouquet doesn't show more.

One of the better LBVs and this vintage is quite impressive. Not as good as 95 and 00 but very close and worth buying and keeping some bottles for later consumption.

Popped and poured. Dark redvioletpurpleblackish colour. Fruity smell of sweet, ripe dark berries. Taste of very sweet dark berries, raisin and plum. Medium concentration, and smooth tannins - to the point that the wine almost lacks "bite" and character.Well integrated alcohol. Medium length and unimpressive mouthfeel. In my view this is an ok midweek easy drinking port. Too sweet an not enough character...

More delicate and complex compared to the last bottle I had one year ago. Still gaining from further storage.

Very reliable. Quite straight-forward, but the acidity gives it a nice freshness.

A great LBV. Beautiful bottle right now and will age well for the next five - maybe even ten years?
