Pseudo tasting note since I drank it a couple weeks ago: Nice plush red, probably had maybe another year in it although it has likely peaked for the 2006 vintage.

Tonight, once again I pop the cork on a bottle of A to Z Chemin de Terre ... sadly this is my last bottle of this totally delicious wine and I am so happy that I waited to give it one last go. The last time I opened a bottle was in August 2010, before that it was July 2010 and then at some earlier times (because at one point I had 5 bottles of this wine in my cellar). This really is a kitchen sink wine as it had about 7 or 8 different varieties in the blend, and some you never would have pegged to be grown in Oregon (Sangiovese anyone?). But now some 7 years from vintage date I can tell you the wine has held up extremely well and currently has smoky blackberry notes with cassis and black cherry, lots of fruit left in it for a wine of this age - it was smooth, elegant and really sexy in the glass. I know we had some people come over and I have to tell you I have no idea what they drank - I just know I enjoyed this.

Excellent blend! Dark berries, medium to bold flavor, the second half of the bottle was better by day 2. I will be buying this bottle again. It's a great price and a 2006

Forward cherry, sage and brick aromas. Followed by forest floor, mushroom, cranberry, leather and sage flavors. Offers some lively acidity. Incomplex, still plenty of fruit and earth in balance. Drink now

Found this little gem at Grocery Outlet for $4.99, vs the normal $20 retail. Blend of 44% merlot, 17.5% syrah,17.5% cab sav, 9% cab franc, 6% sangiovese, 4% grenache and 2% pinot noir. I believe A to Z is the largest volume producer in the great state of Oregon, mostly known for their pinot noir. This is a full bodied treat, aromas of dark fruits, w/flavors of blackberries, raspberries, boysenberries along w/some chocolate. Merlot is running the show, with the syrah/blackberry in the mix too. 18 months in oak plus another 15 months in the bottle prior to release, this is a serious effort. This is a nice wine, and killer QPR at GO.

Berries and tobacco nose. Cherries, more berries, fruity, then dry and more tobacco, long tannin finish Which should be good in a few years. Love the complexity. What a bargain! And from Oregon!

pleasant aromas of black pepper upfront, parading behind the spice you will find aromas of wild raspberries, dark cherries, and wood, with graphite and black licorice hiding in the shadows. On the palate the spice is upfront and is wrapped around everything else going on. Cherry, currant, and sour plum mix with cedar, and herb. the finish is pleasant with the tannins hanging on. Over all, a good value

Lots going on the tongue with this wine from Oregon. Merlot is clearly the star, but the many different varieties of grapes do play a small part on the pallet. Excellent value and a pleasant surprise from a winery who are Pinot Noir based. Smooth after that will pair well with any cuts of beef for you next Sunday night dinner.

Excellent bottle. After a couple of hours it opened up nicely. Very nice spiciness with real complexity, I was surprised given it was from Oregon. Great value.

Similar to last. Big but not out of control. There's a nice light spiciness that I didn't remember from the last almost Zin-like, it must be the Syrah...lots of fruit that has mellowed nicely, but not dull.

A mutt of a wine and a good one at that. Seven different grapes mixed together with Merlot keeping the peace. There is so many things going on and it changed a little from sip to sip that it's difficult to describe. I will say that it has a more mellow Oregon vibe than screaming California which is probably why it works and it does. Like this one a lot.

This wine was exceptional. It was complex, big and well balanced. The blend of Merlot, Cab, Syrah and a small amount of Pinot had sensual aromas of cherry and black cherry. Balanced acidity and tannins with a medium length finish. Would recommend this for a nice steak dinner!

Nice complex blend, not typical to see out of Oregon. Such a small amount of Pinot Noir seems to stand out pretty well in the finish. Interesting, will try again.

Needs to breathe. Fruity flavors emerge after breathing. Nice combination of grapes. Tough to tell which one emerges in your mouth.

Nose is remarably "pinot-like" even though there is no pinot included. Palate is more like a Rhone syrah. Decent, if unremarkable, wine.
