Bricking dark red violet color; reduction, anise, creosote, lavender, sage nose; delicious, complex, dried berry, sage, mineral, creosote palate; could still use 3 years; long finish

Opulent nose, big dark fruits, some rustic brambly notes, drying tannins still on the finish. I don't think I've ever had a Bandol red before, blind I would have guessed something like a relatively young dry creek zin. Edit: this totally fell apart on day 2 (left corked on the table), so methinks you drinkup.

dark and beastly, dried flowers and ripe black cherries on the nose, dried fruit on the palate, with nuances of tree bark, smoke, herbs, soil and anise, nicely developed, complex and engaging on the palate, dry, this is Bandol, this is terroir, and most importantly, this is a pleasure to consume if you enjoy a rustic wine, drink up

Drunk 4 months ago so no notes, but besides remembering liking it very much I recall the other dinner guests remarking on the prominent tobacco leaf and how they had not experienced that before (they not having had Bandol previously). So it was quite a good wine and a crowd-pleaser as well.

Really quite excellent...loads of minerality and some earthy barnyard funk shine through dense dark fruit, with a hint of eucalyptus and rosemary on the finish.

Rockin tonight. Really expressive nose, with just a little scosh of VA adding lift. The fruit is certainly on the ripe side, dry raisin/prune, but with some mature flavors, leather, etc. and pretty decent acidity keeping it fresh. Still a wash of big ripe tannin at the end, so this is not really "ready", but very good with food at the moment. This has the size and structure to age nicely. 14.5%abv, but never tastes hot.

A fine bottle of Bandol, showing well with clean dark fruit, typical garrigue notes, and lovely balance. Even better on day two. Tannins are resolving and has years ahead of it. Still, not a crime to open one now.

Barnyard, some animale, black olive, fresh blackberry and a little raisin in the nose. Very complex. Fresh acidity and lift in the mouth. Licorice like tannin finish. The tannin is pretty suave and smooth, but still plenty of structure. Very nice and should improve. Major yum.

My third bottle of this and the first that showed the sweetness I expect from ready to drink Bandol. This bottle suggests this wine will last and perhaps improve for quite a while. The previous two did not. Don't know which to believe...

BC-03516909; Nice color with huge nose of barnyard and tar, Palate much the same but nuances of fruit emerged. Balanced, but slightly rough mouthfeel. Nice finish of fruit.

huge mouthful of dark fruits, bold, brawny flavors. pleasantly bitter and demands your attention. loads of tar and provencal herbs on the nose and a long dark fruit finish. still tastes young but very approachable. great stuff.

Spectacular. Violets, blackberries, cherries. Juicy and thick, drinks 10 years younger than it is...still I say drink up, no shame in that!

Very solid, thoroughly enjoyable (and drinkable) Bandol. Balanced, with "proper"/classic typicity and terroir. Not a showy/blockbuster, but very good.
