This is some good stuff. Reminds me of a leaner, more smokey lagrein. Nice rocky acidity, full dark fruits on the palate, the fruit is soft and giving, with a good evolution across the palate. Medium to full bodied in my tastes. A pleasure to drink.

Black cherry, licorice and roasted meat aromas and flavors. Very good concentration with good+ length, even if just moderate complexity. Probably still has upside from here. Great value for the $30 from Garagsite at release.

This wine clocks in at a measly 12.5% alcohol but has beautiful darkness of color and fruit. What a beauty. Aromas are rich, deep, and dark, showing heavy notes of pine sap, briar, volcanic ash, and a green peppercorn. What lovely aromas. Palate entry is medium bodied and initially shows darkly complected cherries, briar, spice, but this is all coupled with some leanness of acid. I love how well this balances its weight and litheness, with dark fruit and low alcohol. Spicy and smooth acid lingers nicely on the finish. Really nice intensity.

- Garnet color with medium forming legs. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of blackberry, black currant and black pepper with a medium body. Narrow texture with a long finish.

Did I love it? No, but I did not dislike or hate it, and Lord knows I have had more than my share of biodynamic/organic/natural wine disasters from the boys in Seattle. This had a sweaty horse nose with nice underpinning of ripe cherries but unlike a lot of Bettanomyces monsters, I did not find this objectionable, although I did not love it either. After a bit, the wet horse and leather dissipated to reveal smokey charcoal and sour cherry flavors. I can see where those storing it at warmer temps (60F or above, maybe) could be experiencing a late, strong malo fermentation as there seemed to me to be a ton of acidity awaiting secondary fermentation. Unchecked that could be really bad. I would drink this in 2012.

I liked this but don't love it. It has a mild bacterial issue that's giving it a lactic note that is in the background, but it's still there, getting in the way of the nice, bright red fruits and earth. As it aired, the fruit and earth came out and the lactic note receded. It never went away, but it played a role vaguely reminiscent of VA, providing some frame, maybe some lift, though that's not really the right term. I'm on the fence with this one.

Soft, earthy, and subtle. Autumnal, loamy, ephemeral red fruits, clean leather. Listen carefully because this speaks quietly. Pretty interesting but the cat spilled most of the bottle.

Subtle for the nose, red fruits on the light side. Very nice in the mouth, smooth, tannines that are not too dominant, fruits getting a bit heavier, could well be a Syrah BUT a bit different and difficult to describe. A big surprise from the cellar, a wine bought on recommendation in the best wine grocery in Italy - Courmayeur. Will find more bottles!

Similar to last note. Showing really well, I think these guys are hitting their plateau if you like a more secondary wine.

Last bottle - still flavorful - I wish I would have poured this to drink with pork tenderloin and plum/balsamic vinegar sauce.

Very good, dusty, interesting bottle. Good with ribs, until I put on the spicy sauce!

Bought from Garagiste out of curiosity. Decent wine. Add fumin to the list of grapes tasted. Move on.

From distant memory, dark in color and flavor, decent enough red wine but I don't remember much distinguished.
