Drank with oven roasted chicken with creamy mushroom sauce and kohlrabi gratin. On the nose intense gout de petrol, signs of proper aging. On the palette still so youthful, juicy, clearly lemon. Becomes almost buttery with the food combination. An amazing evening, thanks for the bottle Jean-Louis.

Superbe tenue dans le temps. Encore beaucoup de dynamisme, belle acidité, matière noble, aucune trace d’oxydation, salin, fruit jaune, babeurre, herbes fraîches rappelant l’estragon et la sarriette, fleurs blanches, superbe nez. Bien sec, beau touché de bouche satiné, amertume moyenne-faible, persistance moyenne-courte (petit défaut ici) Prêt à boire mais tiendra encore 2-3 ans facilement.

Green gold colour. Nose is muted but the palate more than makes up for it. It is pretty lush with a good weight and superb flavours of apple and lime. There are attractive petrol notes too with a persistent apple, citrus zing on the long finish. Wonderful stuff.

Nose with mineral, citrus, some yellow apples and baked apples, and a whiff of petroleum. Quite dry on the palate (I'd describe this as "classically Chablis dry") with green apples, citrus, mineral, high and quite prominent acidity, a bit of green notes and a long finish with green apples and minerality. Some developed notes, could develop more, but I don't really see it improving, 84 p.
This is a very firm and fresh style of Riesling, especially for Alsace, but also downright austere since since the vintage character has "amplified" the typical Trimbach style. While it is pure and classic, in this case, I wouldn't have minded a bit more "filling and substance" in the wine to balance the acidity.

Opened wed night at home, consumed over three nights. On opening, nose-very dry, compared to other rielsings we had before. citrus and lemon, yellowish gold color (not as gold as the viognier consumed later in the week) . on palate, very classic riesling so to speak. enjoyable summer drink. Citrus and summer fruits, but certainly more lime and lemon than pineapple or peach on the palate. For me, enjoyable with salad and light tapas. Day 2 and 3: does not hold back. Still very big on floral nose, the amount of dryness is more balance (not as citrus enrich as day one). Needs to be carefully chilled. Overall: Good summer drink at a very good qpr (sub 30 per 750), that can be consumed over two-three days with no special worries (close and put in refrigerator) . Drink or hold. Drink with some summer chilled salad or fish. ~90 or so

Tart. After 8 years I think a certain "mellowness" should be evident. Sadly not. Thin and tight, not worth keeping. Recent reviewers have noted the piercing acidity and complimented on it. I must disagree. "Chablis like" said one chap - Hmm, at 8 years on even a decent Chablis starts to mellow and gain depth. Not this stuff. Don't get me wrong - I like a good mouth searing acid bath like the next guy but there has to be something besides the acids - call it some fruit maybe? Perchance a little minerality? Sigh.
Served at a party and the whole bottle couldn't be finished by a large crowd with other wine options. People kept saying "its drinkable but just not very pleasant or interesting" ..... Bad bottle? I think not - tasted about a year and a bit ago, while that bottle was better (86) it was in the same vein as this. Time hasn't been kind to this effort.
When you look at all the various reviews this wine has received over the years, it seems the closer you get to France the lower they become. I wonder what that says. Decanter and La Revue du Vin de France barely clear the 80 level (actually La Revue doesn't) while Wine Spectator gives it a 92. Huh.

There are some great notes below: lime ice, rubber balloon, resinous minerality. There is an oxidative openness about this bottle: dried hay, apple brandy and almonds. The palate is nicely dry with a good load of acid that works well with fatty foods. I tried this with lemon chicken and the flavors were right but the dish was not fatty enough to balance the wine. Cashews were tasty with this wine and accentuated the mineral tones on the palate as they contrasted with the sweetness of the nuts. I wonder how this wine will age. There is a bit of kerosine, but not much.

Excellent Riesling, amazing acidity, and freshness this should be one to last forever in the cellar as it has not developed the 'aged' characteristics as yet - Light straw, medium viscosity with a nose of green apple, lime and mineral, very well structured, great balancing acidity, sour on the palate with very good length, store this one for a few years! (90 Points).

Lots of fresh green apple, minerals and crisp acidity - paired excellently with easter ham.

Drank at Sketch. Looks like a Sauvignon Blanc, smells like plastic, which is made from gas - the best smell for Riesling. Still too sweet.

Straw color. Aromas of minerals, lime ice and a touch of kerosine. Ripe, highly structured, precise fruit in the mouth with great acidity, focus and intensity. Very tightly-wound at this time. Should improve with a few more years of bottle age.

Très bon vin, avec des notes citronnées présentes, qui gagne en rondeur à l'aération. Grande buvabilité, la bouteille a vite disparu !
