Better than the first bottle. Still room to improve? Not sure. Good body with long lasting finish. Enough power. Complexity is lacking to shoot an even better score.

Wow! What an amazing experience though still very young. We drank it through 6 hours as this incredible wine evolved in the glass and opened up to reveal a complex spectre of aromas.
It was tight the first hour or so, but from there on it took me on a journey as it changed aromas every half hour. The sky is the limit for this wine and if you give it more years to develop in the bottle it will definitely repay you with even more complexity.
Is it worth its price? What I do know is that I will remember this evening for a long long time.
Edit: 3 days later and I’m still salivating by the thought of it. I will taste again in 10-20 years!

A bit of discolouration around the rim, dark core. Super layered and intriguing nose - sweet dark fruit, vanilla, violets, leather, spices. Equally complex on the palate - remarkable balance despite it being very concentrated, well integrated acidity, nice tannic backbone. Wonderful ripe fruit, spicy, very very long. Fantastic. Drink or keep. 95-97

A DGW of the first order. Opened and decanted 4 hours prior to drinking. Decant was necessary in this case. A solid tempranillo casked in French oak, it opened up slowly both in the decanter and glass. Had a long finish to its dried pruny start.

Bottle number:011665 out of 15.298 altogether, purchased recently by auction, into neck, so give this one a try on last saturday, pnp after one hour breathing in the opened bottle, as always want to know the topical condition of the bottling, needed some hours to really blossom up, right from the start a strong fragrance of all kinds of fruit, candied plums, and mineralic tones, on the palate superb tension with again red fruit, rich, ripe brambleberry, great finesse, graphit, smoked meat and earthy tones, all the way elegant and still tight, not the best pairing with grilled dishes, I think this is a bottle to enjoy on its own, ending very long and with a demanding, almost biting acidity, waited another 48 hours to finish the last third of this bottle, now much more balanced with a great energetic fruit flow, but still the finish with supporting acid, no....., strong acidity, a bottling for decades from now! Will improve, in well stored bottles you should wait at least another decade for the next try ! ***(**), 95-97(+) potential , luckily purchased all these bottles for about 260€ per bottle, no complaints, a real bargain these days!

Dark red; exploding nose with loads of blueberries, some vanilla; extremely agreeable soft silky attack, perfect balance with depth and intensity; aftertaste of blueberries goes on and on; can it get any better? Not in my view. Perfection!

Score is for today and may increase with time. Tasted next to the 95 Unico, this was more open, rounder, fuller, and more balanced, but also slightly less interesting. Will be incredibly interesting to follow the evolution of these over the next 20 years or so. I think this will be better in the next decade and the individual vintages (91, 94, 95) better after that. Looks to me that in blending the vintages, they go for more harmony but maybe less ultimate greatness. Will have to see.

93 pts

Deep black. Lots of melted, caramelized butter in the nose; also lemon buttermilk, dough, caramel, popcorn, tar, gravy, capers and something like anchovy. Incredibly intense on the palate; leaves great warmth in the mouth that makes you feel your blood pulsating.

Was very very impressed with this wine. Felt totally different than anything I had before. Was a sort of perfect hybrid of the best rhone and the best bordeaux. Full of flavor, super well balanced. This sun and ripeness and yet good acidity. I am looking to buy this!

Medium to full bodied. All sour cherry notes and red fruit. Brick oven notes. Great acidic backbone throughout. Classy. Masculine, robust wine, yet with plenty of style. Delicious.

Lett murstein i kant. Flott nese med mørke bær og røyk. Mørkerød frukt, stall, lær og vanilje. Faktisk litt skuffende ift 1999 Unico som ble servert først. Mye løsere i frukten, antydningsvis rosin. Modne tanniner. Lang ettersmak.

Deep ruby color. Very primary but very elegant on the nose with delicate, focused elements of black cherry and plum skin and mineral notes. Medium bodied on the palate with lots of fine, ripe tannins. I'd like to give this a few years before tasting it again. (Only had half a glass).

Vega Sicilia master class. Zita Rojkovitch ásamt Vínskólanum og Beri ehf. (Hótel Reykjavík Centrum, Aðalstræti 16): Jaðrar farnir að sýna brúnku. Þungur og höfugur ilmur, jarðartónar. Mikil sýra. Fíkjur í bragði. Endist örugglega endalaust. Varð fyrir smá vonbrigðum með þetta vín. Único mun meira spennandi að mínu mati.

most likely an off bottle, not as rich and intense as I remembered, did not last long either, bit disappointed.

Quite subdued nose with a lovely complex palate and a medium length. Really wonderful stuff, only managed to have a small glass.
