PNP, opened up over two hours. Medium color, slightly rusty. Red raspberry. Cranberry. 5-spice powder. Fruit is still primary, but not extracted and balanced with a crisp acidity. Medium body, long finish. Drink or hold.

Had with a salmon in a light mushroom cream sauce. Dark red in color. Nose of red raspberry, cranberry, forest loam, floral, and spice. Palate of red raspberry, cranberry, pomegranite, forest loam, spice. The finish was long in length, good mouthfeel and acidity given the warm vintage. Overall a really nice wine, was very glad to see it showed well. Drink or Hold: 50+5+13+17+7

Monthly Wine Group: Domestic Pinots and Chards From Some Top Producers (Levain, Mpls): Medium red color. Drank 1 glass over 45 minutes. Nose is nice, with blackcherry, a little black raspberry, vanilla, spice, lightly floral. The palate has rip darker fruits, tart, spice, medium to lighter body. Medium finish. Very similar to the old vine really.

Nice nose of ripe black cherries and flowers. Not as ripe on the palate and more floral. Like other '09s I've had from Patricia Green, this is extracted without being overdone. Great acidity.

Jim Anderson / PGC dinner - Etzel Block Vertical and Blind Tasting (New England): Not very concentrated. Wildflowers and plums on nose, with a touch of briny smoke. On palate, beautiful balance, and rich. Touch of oxidation, which came out over time.

The nose is quite nice, sweet fresh fruit. Tastes like an Oregon pinot noir. The finish is a bit tart.

Needs more time to really show its full potential but, drinking nicely right now. The Old Vine is a better value at this point.
