This wine has improved drastically since I opened another bottle from the same vintage. Although the nose remains tight and yields some black fruit, it has lost its oak monster nose. Likewise on the palate, the oak has mellowed and now the fruit (dark berry) dazzles. Mild tannins have likewise mellowed. I am anxious to try another bottle in 9-12 months.

From a 375ml bottle, very nice aromas of lush cherries, red berries, oak and a bit of meat juices. On the palette, more of the same red ripe fruits, tangy and lush. With a nice long finish. Unmistakingly Napa Cab Sav. Not overripe but also primary. This bottle is still fairly young as its quite tannic. I'd hold for another 2 years. I've had the 2005 and 2009. All fairly similar with the 2005 my favorite. I opened this bottle 4 days ago (vacuvin) and have my last glass today. Its smoothed out over the past few days and still a little tannic. Overall a nice Napa Cab. I like it!!

Shows a gorgeous deep purple color and classic napa cabernet aromatics. Medium plus concentration, body, and displays good refinement to the tannins. Definitely a bit softer than when tasted last year. This time out of a 375. Not often do you get this kind of luxury out of a standard napa designation, and 14.5% alcohol is very reasonable for this era. Looking forward to trying the '09 and '10.

Decanted for 1 hour. Oak and sandalwood on the nose and palate. Still on the green side. Very good and enjoyable with food. Will wait a little more for the next one.

I like Turnbull, and this vintage typifies their style and character. Great value, nice nose, good rich color and dark fruit. In a pinch, you can’t go wrong with this as a middle of the week type of wine with dinner. Very Good to Excellent.

Amazing wine! Although its been suggested to wait until 2013+ I chose to open my bottle, but I will wait to open another in a year or so. I think the wine tastes great now, good served with or without food, definitely would not be reluctant to select for guests as it has the "special occasion" taste. Full bodied taste.

Cassis and black fruits. A hint of heat that I'm not loving, so it is probably way too early for this vintage. Has a medium length finish, but nothing super exciting. Very good, but doesn't stand up to some of the better cabs we had on this trip.

New World Cab for sure. Very upfront with everything, no working to figure this wine out. Heavy on the fruit and the oak. Not overly jammy, but good now, probably not built for the long haul.

Still drinking really well. Great depth, fruit still very rich, tannins have softened, but still plenty of structure and long finish.

Just not good wine, no matter the price. overly acidic, tannic and no real character. Much better wine is available at 1/2 the price.
Reminder to self: don't buy this again.

Red and black fruit nose with floral notes. Palate had red and black fruit with vanilla and pepper. Fairly simple wine.

Pnp. Very oaky, slight greenish bitterness. Mint? Chocolate. Good structure. Definitely needs a few years to calm down and mellow out. Huge.

Delicious cab. Didn't quite finish the bottle and that was a real shame. Definitely enjoyed and would look for more from the Turnbull vineyard.

Rich dark color, clear w/ no sediment or fines. Nose and flavors of dark fruits, vanilla and oak. Full bodied w/ a moderate finish. Mild tannins.
