  • Yellowish with a slight greenish tinge. Nose was a clear giveaway of what one should expect - big, generous fruits mostly tropical, and vanillin. Good round palate with decent weight to the wine. Rich but at the same time balanced. The oak was evident but in such a young wine, surprisingly integrated that it wasnt a distraction. The finish was intense with a hint of heat. This wine is plain good drinking so dont look for complexity. The Stonier Chardonnay is good but at the same price point, I find a better wine in Voyager Estate Chardonnay or if one is looking for a better specimen of white Burgundy, the Cape Mentelle!

  • Light straw yellow in colour the nose shows perfumed oak with peach and melon.

The palate has a balanced structure with well handled acidity and oak integration. In terms of fruit there is nectarine and peach that gains subtle spice and complexity, the finish has good persistence with stone fruits lingering, a good early drinking example of Stonier Chardonnay

  • Burghound in Asia Grand Tasting (St-Regis Hotel, Singapore): Ever since I have tasted the Chardonnay from Stonier some time ago, I became a fan of it. It used to be a S$30+ dollar wine which offer tremendous joyous and the quality is clearly punching above its asking price. Cold on the nose with generous fruits, citrus and lemon custard laced over a mineral, wet stone bed, a tad of white flower scents too. Rich on the palate with lovely transparency and freshness to the lightly complex flavor and depth. The finish is long with mineral aftertaste and also a trace of alcohol heat, but hey, what's more could I ask for a S$30+ wine? Sadly, it retail at S$50+ now which is no longer a bargain. Buy - Maybe.

  • white gold
nose of peach, cream, ripe mango, hazelnut, butter and coconut: wood very evident but not too much toast and enough fruit to balance it if you like the genre.
very big, lots of fruit and balancing acidity - can go with food.

  • Culina : Our Wines, Our Style (J.W.Mariott Hotel): Alcohol : 14%
Lighter in style compared to Petaluma Chard but this is very charming on its own. 9months oak aging and partial malolactic fermentation to maintain good lively acid. Soft and fresh aromas that display fresh citrus fruits, mineral and white flower with round creamy palate that is quite complex with good depth and spicy finish that is very clean and pure. Very good. Heard that the KBS is two notches up, can't wait to get one to try! At $40bucks this is hard to beat. Buy - Yes.

  • Stonier chard 2008
Starts well with a serious matchstick note and stone fruit, albeit appropriately cool climate mild in intensity, but the palate falls into a black hole mid palate. Really quite strange as a lot was promised here. 86
