Apples and pears and a touch of kerosene and woodsmoke. Searing acidity, intensely racy. White pepper on the finish - a bit like a Grüner Veltliner. Impressive energy and nerve.

The wine is still rich with flavours of lemon, peach an some petrol notes but had lose much of the acid since april 2019. But theese Rieslings from Alsace have proved to last long and year 2008 was very good vintage.

Still some freshness, lemon and minerality. The petroliumnotes start to take over on the palate but still even som peach an citrus left. Complexity , good balance and deep. Probably over its peak but very good.

Just a perfect example of find aged Alsace riesling. Still very pale and remarkably youthful, it pings with lemon zest, peach skin, a gravelly minerality, toasted marshmallow - something new with every sip. Utterly dry. The sharp acid finish goes on and on. Delicious.

Excellent with petrol notes, kerosene, jolly rancher, white peach, lime-lemon, cooked apple tart notes mixed with some slight mushroom earthiness; soft entry, very mildly sweet, great finish. Very good Alsace Riesling. Blind at home. 92+

Expressive notes of petroleum, mango, papaya, citrus, some apricot, a touch of smoke, honey. Medium-full bodied, medium acidity and good length. A beautifully aged Riesling full of character.

Hugel tasting (Bel & Brio, Barangaroo): More pronounced kerosene over floral notes and slight honey. The fruit is more apple than peach. Quite juicy and fleshy tending to a little tartness. Bone dry. This still has time to give up the fruit, If it will. Hmm.

No Jubilee more: Hugel's trend towards terroir, over brand (Hugel & Fils): To me, not quite as concentrated as the Clos Sainte Hune tasted earlier that day, but a premium brand Riesling indeed, with complex aromatics of kiwi, lime, wet stone and a fine texture on the pure and pristine palate, leading to a long and bright if still somewhat steely (which is normal) finish. With 12% alcohol and three grams of residual sugar, an excellent expression of grand cru Riesling!

Cellier Wine Fair (Hilton Athenaum Hotel): The nose is clean, high intensity filled with ripe and candied fruit, tropical and petrol notes as well, sugar coated fruit. The wine is dry, medium body and med+/high intensity, great balance and structure, ripe fruit, almost smoky, roasted almond, candied lime, great length, finish that never ends, great acidity that keeps youthful and vibrant. Outstanding quality, drink now but will hold, with food and on its own

Prince - Hugel tasting (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): aromas of lime cream, wet stone, slight dusty note, also floral top notes - almost honeysuckle - on agitation. In the mouth the wine is juicy with medium plus intensity acidity, lime, slight honeyed notes, dry, very linear and front to back of mouth. Very pleasant but needs time.

“Ten Years After” 2008 Dry Riesling with the Guys from Mosel Fine Wines (Domicil Leidinger, Saarbrücken, Germany): White fruit mixed with a bit of unripe pineapple, a bit of camomile and a stony component. On the palate citrus zest, Bergamot, wonderful balanced acidity. Very elegant and finessed. Fresh and salty finish. A wonderful Riesling in a nearly perfect Balance. Big surprise for me.
