Aging with grace. Dark color. Damp, must on the nose. Excellent fruit early with some fade over several hours into mellow prunes and stewed fruit. As expected. Probably stable over next 3-5 years

Cellared since release. Removed from cellar and used Coravin to pour one glass. Rich sturdy color with scant signs of aging. It has a complex, nuanced bouquet of dark fruits, prunes, tobacco, damp earth, barnyard and eucalyptus. The menthol notes gained ground with more time in the glass and almost overpowers the fruit. Flavors of licorice, cassis, plums and menthol. Bordeaux structure. Medium body and medium finish. Pleasant, if not exhilirating. It has some life left.

Kept this one too long. Deep purple color with a touch of amber at the rim. Muted cabernet nose. Black fruit on palate. Short finish. Still good wine, but much diminished from 5 or 6 years ago. Drink soon.

Very hard to give a point due to the fact that it was lovely the first 5 minutes and then died more or less. So lets say it started off in the region of 92-93 points with a grand Bordeaux like nose and beautiful in the mouth with great structure. Sweet lovely fruit. After 5 minutes it was tandoori in the nose. Curry!....and it lost everything in the mouth (80 p) so maybe 90 is a good meeting point.

Bouquet: Old vines, deep dirt, very complex out of the bottle but slightly decanted, dusty, cherries and currant, heavy copper, and slight fennel. Palate: Major paprika and white pepper, fennel, heavy mushrooms with sweet carmalized onion on the mid.

I was super excited to have this and it was a let down. I think the age wore down the tannic strength that I like. The wine was medium body with moderate fruit but fell off on the finish. No grip or complexity.

Served with cake & ice cream at my kids' birthday party. Believe me, this wine was the perfect remedy for 15 screaming 3 year olds and Jello the Clown! Decanted 3 1/2 hours before serving. The bottle had a fair amount of fine, grainy sediment. Color was deep, dark red, with just a tinge of rusty brown. Initially, the wine had a funky sort of green olive smell to it, but it blew off after an hour or so in the decanter. Upon serving, it was spectacular! Rich, thick aromas of coffee beans, cedar, black currants, and leather. More of the same on the palate, especially the coffee beans and leather. Our group also noted pencil lead, plums, and minerals. Tannins were rich and soft, giving this wine an incredible backbone and texture. I found the finish rather short for this type of wine: 30+ seconds. All in, this reminded me of a really good Right Bank Bordeaux.

11th bottle of a case bought on futures at the MacArthur Barrel tasting. Seemed a little old and tired. Will drink the last bottle soon.

This continues to shine. Perfect maturity level, but still lots of fruit. Great balance

A little bit old the hill, but still nice. Opened up nicely after an hour.

Not sure if it was flawed but it was another mediocre bottle bought via Acker. Rob and Brian tried and agreed that it wasn't very good.

Something wrong...not corked but lacking from what I have experienced with prior PM '92's. Luck of the draw I guess.
