La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Walk around tasting vertical. Mature and tasty, certainly still good, but time to drink up. I obviously do not know if some bottles were opened and tired, so not served, which would not surprise me.

Excellent vin mais qui manque un peu de coffre, si je puis dire, considérant la maison, l'appelation et le millésime. Sur les fleurs blanches, le miel et la cire d'abeille. Bonne acidité et minéralité toutefois.

Dinner at the Wild Poet's (HM's place): Cracking stuff - WOTN for me. This had a very nice nose. Lots of little white flowers, some beeswax, layers of earth and mineral, white fruit, a touch of cream, and some earthy, mushroomy accents. Lots of depth and complexity on that bouquet. The palate had a lovely richness to it, with a creamy textured mouthfull of fleshy apple, pear and melon fruit. Concentrated, ripe, but underlined with a lovely amount of minerality and lemony freshness all the way into a nice finish that showed a layer of white chocolate along with a hit of sweet spice. Lovely stuff. I picked it as a 2002 Chassagne, but such was the quality that I thought it was a Criots-Batard. On reflection though, the wine did not quite have the depth and length, or the noble integration of a Grand Cru, but boy was it punching above its weight, and it was drinking really well too. As an added bonus, and quite unexpectedly I must say, this a wonderul pairing with HM's complex dish of duck broth jelly with mushroom foam and truffle pearls as well. So yummy.

Last tried from my cellar 3 years ago and still very fine. Started out slightly hard and harsh. May have been served too cold, but after a half hour evolved into a beautiful white burg. No sign of oxidation-straw yellow. No real nose to speak of but this may have been due to horrible stems (tiny bowls) at byob. Beautiful blended palate of chalk, crushed stones, honey and some crisp apple. Long finish. Very enjoyable. Blew away an 07 Kistler Durrell drunk side by side (and I like Kistler and CA chards) which I found overly sweet from massive fruit and a lot of oak. Loved the subtlety of the Jadot better with food on this night.

Nice straw/light golden color; nose of citrus and apples and crushed stone; rich sweet ripe apple and hint of melon on an expansive, open frame that is at the same time reined in with firm acidity. Surprisingly fresh after experiencing some ups and downs among the Jadot whites of this vintage. Excellent bottle.

Terrific and classic white burg. Med- bodied with a viscous mouthfeel and tons of baked spiced apple, lemon, some mint and warm lemon. Tons of persistence and excellent purity and delineation of flavours. Long finish with some spicy acidity. Could probably benefit from a few more years, but this seems more than 2/3 there, which is a great spot. A unique terroir and great jooce.

Grange in the 90s @ Mike J's (Wilton, CT): Dark yellow in color. Flavors that would indicate premature oxidation... bananas and butterscotch. Some apple and pineapple fruit flavors as well, but the zest this wine should have was just not evident. Drinkable, but still flawed.

One of the best value White Burgs I have been lucky enough to purchase, hitting on all points right now, it probably will not get better and its so good right now that you should drink them if you have them. Waxy, lemon peel, Meyer lemon, fennel, gravel, intense thick mineral nose. I ate at Ubuntu in Napa the same day, one person at dinner said the wine smelled and tasted like the herb salad with lemon and olive oil from their Bio dynamic gardens, not a bad description, maybe with some pebbles on top for croutons.

Popped and poured at 16C. Moderately deep, clear amber yellow. Nose of beeswax, lemons, orange zest and oak. On the palate this wine has a brisk attack, with tart lemon acidity immediately making itself known but held in check by a central spine of complex notes of honey, oak and toast all supported on what feels like a bed of gravel. The final is long and special - this wine sings for a good minute, reverberating all around the palate. All in all, this is a lovely wine - lemon juice through a mouthful of gravel in the best possible sense. 50+5+12+18+8=93.

A very fine bottle. Extreme pale yellow. Enjoyable subtle nose of chalk and crushed stones with a hint of lemon and lime. Balanced on the palate with integrated flavors of mineral and citrus. Long finish with no flaws. Showed well with grilled stuffed skate wings. Fine qpr. A winner.

Very young and showing some wood initially, but stunning. Tons of slate and mint with weight and complexity of a top premier cru. This doesn't show any pre-oxidation, so hoping it will mature nicely.

Dernière bouteille de ce vin sur 4. Il était temps de la boire. On retrouve les mêmes parfums de miel et de fumée mais en vrai déclin

Still vibrant and powerful, not a lot of "aged" white burg profile but nicely integrated from bottle age, I wish I had another dozen.

Much fresher than my last bottle which I felt was mildly poxed. Lovely nose and bracing acidity supporting yellow fruits and spice.
