  • Tasted double blind. Despite not coming from a banner year, this offers everything you wish for in a Dom Perignon all telltale DP aromas, good freshness, and drinking pleasure in spades. It hasn’t the concentration of the big years and is probably not one for the ages but it’s great right now. Superb achievement for a 2010, especially considering the huge production volume.

TN: Medium expressive nose citrus notes and minerality at first. With time the nose gets more intense and reveals the signature DP toasty aromas with that strong mineral backbone. On the palate citrus, minerality, white peach, some floral aromas, lots and lots of minerality, toasty notes and towards the finish some fine brioche notes. Good freshness (not 2008 freshness), fine structural frame and mousse, very good balance from start to finish.

Decanting: Not decanted, no extensive decanting needed.

  • This has improved in bottle somewhat. It seems as though the vintage was redeemed by winemaking rather than the reverse, that is, this tastes like DP, but it’s a little lacking in concentration and richness, and will never be among the best vintages. Doesn’t hold a candle to 2012

  • Tasted at a social event. Brioche and fine bakery notes underline the fruit of pear, fresh apple and grilled lime. Formidably layered, chalky minerality. Great balance on the palate. A harmonious DP ticking a lot of the signature boxes, but a slightly lighter structure compared to the bigger vintages. For me not unlike the 2009, but without the creamy texture.

  • Very expressive, especially for 2010 Champange, with notes of citrus, white flowers, some chalky minerality, sweet spices too. Medium-full bodied, with medium+ acidity and some creaminess. Very good finish. A very nice DP. (94+)

  • Blind. The nose is wonderful, jumps from the glass with citrus and white flowers. Very expressive, on the palate it is a little soft though, would need a touch more acidity for a higher score.
