Inviting medium gold in the glass. Pronounced nose of lemon, apricot, brioche, ginger, honey, and chalk. Medium+ acidity, fine creamy mousse, and medium+ mineral finish. Simply a benchmark Blanc de Blancs, with the fruit, yeastiness, and structure in perfect balance. Looking forward to it developing further complexity in a few years!

Medium+ nose of bruised apple, pear, peach, dairy, and wet stone. A bit oxidative upon opening, but that disappeared quickly. Medium+ acidity, creamy and slightly aggressive mousse, and medium+ finish. This felt way too young and not showing much compared to the 2016s I’ve had, so I would let it slumber for at least 2 years.

PnP'ed and consumed over 3 hours. Pronounced nose of blackcurrant, licorice, cedar and dark chocolate. Medium acidity and medium+ moderately grippy tannins. Apparent pyrazine, with notes of tobacco leaf transforming into slightly off-putting green bell pepper with time. Long, savory, and mineral finish. Pretty good, but can't say that this showing was commensurate with the Beckstoffer prestige.
