West London Kebab Research (Fez Mangal): Enjoyed with the finest kebabs in west london. Colour - pale gold. Really lovely stuff - starts off at the less oxidative end of white Rioja, but with a big mouthfeel and it goes on and on. I had been a little worried this might be past it but absolutely not - this bottle sand. WOTN by popular acclaim.

No proper tasting note but I recall a mature straw colour, complex nose and a taste of earth and stones rather than fruit. A really interesting wine which, although mature, I would say would last a year or two yet. It was fine with a vegetable tagine.

A slightly oxaditive style on this bottle - age seems to have turned it a touch, but the quality shines through with tangy minerals over the richer frame - sone tingly struck match notes, but under this there is a calm, mature palate. Not to everyone's palate I would imagine (it can be a bit rich at times) but there is a Grand Cru Burg-like quality about its richness.

A little oxidised tones. I don't like it very much at this stage. Maybe an off bottle so not rated.
