  • Very nice nose of cherry, strawberry, pepper and a hint of complexity with licorice and a little natural side which dissipates very quickly to give way to a beautiful purity. Very slight volatility which dissipates quickly.

Beautiful mouthfeel, all purity with formidable sapidity. The strawberry is very present, it mixes deliciously with the pepper on a textured juice that slides on its own. It’s incredibly fun. Richness combines with flexibility. Beautiful acidity with a very nice balance. A slightly “natural” finish with tangy red fruit and good length.

    Excellent!

  • Popped and poured from a 1.5L; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. This was singing from the first glass to the last. The 2015 “Cuvée Marcel Lapierre” pours a deep, hazy ruby/purple with a near opaque core. Medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the aromatics are off the hook. Still developing with beautiful red and dark fruits: pomegranate, cherry, strawberry, blackberries, herbs, mixed flowers and just a whiff of pastureland. Just lovely stuff. I could just smell my glass all evening and it might just be enough. Alas, I did drink. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium(+?) tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish was long and satisfying. Mathieu and Camille did an excellent job managing the solar nature of the vintage with this bottle. The vineyard source probably didn’t hurt: Cuvée Marcel Lapierre is a blend of fruit from ancient vines in Côte du Py and “Le Douby”. This paired really well with traditional holiday ham balls. Already drinking well now but sure to age effortlessly over the next 10-15 years.

  • Pop and pour. Notes from 2 days open. Transporting nose of sweet wild strawberry, bubble.gum, savory herbs, soft earth. On the palate: lovely acidity, strawberry, soft ash, cherry pit and very soft tannin (like a dusting of snow) on th3 finish. Fantastic now.

  • Similar to prior experience. Decanted two (2) hours. Squarely in its drinking window now. Displays beautiful nose of fresh violets, red cherry, strawberry and forest floor. Lovely presence on the palate and exceedingly quaffable. Gives way to long evenly distributed finish.

  • Dirty with some sort of bacteria and secondary firmentation.
