Lots of vanilla initially but opens up nicely after an hour. Smoothed out quickly and lots of fruit. Typical huge Venge Cabernet. Wish we’d opened it up and decanted for a couple of hours, but we rarely plan ahead that well.

Vintners' Estate Tasting, nose of black berry, plum, and allspice, same on the palate, lovely, rich fruit, big body, mouth filling fruit, needs 4 years to peak, slightly subdued today but shows great promise and probably a higher score, and a long finish.

Nose of fresh cut flowers, violets, vanilla, caramel, cassis fruit, black licorice and forest floor. Massively full bodied with sweet but rather rough tannins and very prominent oak influence throughout. There is really nice fruit underneath the surface here, but this wine is so primary and oaky it has a hard time making its way through. Very rustic, and definitely not the purest, most elegant or refined representation of BTK. This does seem to get better the longer it's opened, so there's some hope over time it will come together and get better. It's all over the place right now.

Decanted 2 hrs, very bold and youthful, spice. Give 4 more years to develop. Drink 2028 to 2038.
