At Wine bar. First bottle corked, the next straight to decanter. Started off somewhat mute, dark and brooding. After 30 min it starts to open up, revealing it's heritage being close to the Vosne-border. Red and black fruit, vosne-spice, hint of sous bois and oak, great depth and body. Very long lingering finish, fine acidity and ripe fruit. Mouth filling aromas and generous fruit. Excellent quality. Still a bit reserved and will certainly have a long life in the cellar.

Saturday Lunch with Friends and Wine (Happ Inn - Northfield IL): Small glass, brief note. Broad cross-section of black, red and blue berries here with Vosne styled spices. Similar flavors but slightly more rugged and firm on palate. Good now but I think this has 93 point potential 2020 forward.

I do not really understand how it is possible, but you can feel this wine's smoothness in the nose already. This is liquid velvet and almost impossible to place in NSG blind. The elegance of the producer overrides the terroir. Lovely stuff. 93+

Pronounced, with massive aromatics, Huge structure. A very big wine. Should be grand cru? Methinks so.
