A lot of notes on this one that are really quite all over the place. Since I rated it 92 last time, and agree with my rating maybe for slightly different reasons, I will not put a numeric value on it again. It has been almost five years since I have come back to this one. Popped with family, this one was not nearly as intense from a blackberry and body standpoint. But it definitely showed up to the party and did not disappoint. Since this one is really not along the same lines as some of the others brought, it was opened on a different night. This is more black cherry dense, a little bit of bitter and astringent baking chocolate, red clay influence, some wildflower, eucalyptus. Finishes with classic Rutherford Dust. Had I wanted to match some of the others, I probably would have grabbed the Bordeaux blend from the same year. This one almost drinks like the Cabernet Franc at 10 years old. Definitely not anywhere near decline as there was a little bit of a roasted tannin on the finish with a hint of espresso. Very nice.

Deep center, red rim with modest signs of age. Plums, cherries, blackberries, very fruit driven, ash, dust and clay follow. Rich red and black fruits, hints of port (in a good way), good acidity and tannin still, very good finish. Drinking well now, but has the backbone to last a few more years.

Smooth & voluptuous. Deep claret in color, nose of dark red fruit and spices.
