Burgundy WIMPS (La Trompette, Chiswick): Medium/deep garnet, pale mahogany rim. Big, spicy yet aromatic nose, touch of game. Medium/full, broad and rich on the palate, some slightly showy tannins on the finish but very enjoyable. ***1/2.

Burgundy Wimps (La Trompette, Chiswick): Initially reticent, opening slowly to reveal some dusty dark fruit, game. Perhaps slightly hollow on the mid-palate before coming back again on the finish. ***

Initially a bit reticent, this took a short while to reveal its perfumed red fruit, florals and cherry qualities. Nice earthy/funky undertone. Balanced, with a medium+ finish.

Rich full aromatic nose.Nice fruit,,perhaps slightly lean but fresh.Improves in the glass to become quite ripe and seductive.Medium body and lovely finish. Think this is nearly as good as the Calthiard I had the other day, which is high praise indeed. Yet another 2000 burgundy that rocks!! Excellent.

Bright meaty ruby - a touch paler at the rim. Lovely nose - floral topnotes with rich, gamey, dark cherry fruit. Very classy. Mouth entry is very well balanced. Firm and meaty with a spicy edge to it and a long slightly gamey finish. Slightly edgy, slightly bitter, but very good. ***
