From Coravin. Herbaceous, very 2004, almost resinated. like touches of Retsina, beneath this some light red berry and cherry, chalky minerality, graphite. It's a bit sour and bitter on the palate, that herbaceousness very much in charge. tight, front of mouth and gum grip. Nah.

Burgundy "Masterclass" - Day 2 (Sydney, New South Wales, Australia): [From Coravin] The appearance is clear and pale garnet in colour. Tears are visible. Well-defined aromas showing notes of stem/whole-bunch (ash, dried leaves), dried herbs (dried coriander?), oxidation (coffee), mineral (dusty earth, saline), fruit development (dried red cherry), and carbonic/whole-berry characters (subtle candied red cherry, boiled candy). The palate is quite stemmy (ash), but also shows some bottle-age notes (leather) in addition to the notes on the nose. The medium level tannins and acidity have a great balance. The finish has a medium length and shows warmth from the alcohol.

From Coravin. Slightly stalky, a touch of 'gym kit left in a bag too long', slight cherry ashy, smoky in fact with a touch of salinity. The cherry grows with time in the glass and becomes quite jubey. In the mouth it's a little sour and the herbaceous quality lends hardness when combined with the chewy tannins. Nah.

Coravin fun - new arrivals (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Slightly gamey and meaty, slight hard black fruits, a smidge of stalks, spice with more of the same on the palate; wild black fruit, peppery spice, long, a little warm but nice.

PnP enjoyed over 3 hours. Rounded edges, yet serious and detailed, this gained complexity and nuance with airtime. For those that pooh pooh this vintage/region, I merely direct them to this classy drop. A small amount remained and proved even better on day 2. Perhaps it's that it wasn't flashy that made this more memorable? The wine's mantra seemed to be 'classic' and that was enough for me. My experience was easily better than the CT avg. I really need to get some of the 2010's in my cellar. recommended
