Light but not simple red color with a very correct but unadorned pint nose of sour cherry and spices. Lovely wine in the mouth with ample acidity and nice tannin structure. At $23 not a value but an enjoyable experience.

Flight 4, Alsace, Wine 4 (blind): The wine was medium ruby in colour and offered a rather shy nose of cherry, red berries and spices. On the palate the medium-bodied wine showed red fruit, cherry, strawberry and a mild spiciness, paired with medium-plus lively acidity, medium-level tannin and good length. Both, acidity and alcohol, were not well-integrated and stood out a bit. A correct and easy drinking but rather simplistic Pinot Noir. The wine is likely to improve slightly over the next two years and should then be good for about another two to three years.

Recent vintages of Trimbach.: The nose offers fresh fruit aromas of redcurrants and blackberries. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied, fresh, fruity and supple with good length on the silky finish. Aging potential: 5 to 10 years.

ruby with hints of brown, heavy blackberry and oak on the nose, not tannic, a bit of pepper in the middle.
