  • Pale garnet. Medium (+) nose of sweet red fruit - cherry, cranberry, hint of liquorice, smoke, vanilla, mushroom, forest floor. Developing. Dry, high acidity, med alcohol and body, med tannins, now quite velvety, palate similar to the nose, medium+ intensity, long finish.

Definitely improved since the last tasting almost five years ago. This is outstanding now, drinking beautifully, but has plenty of time ahead of it.

  • Tasted over 3 hrs and day 2
-med dark red minimal clearing at edge
-ripe dark cherry berry wet stone spice, more fragrant and pronounced spice on day 2
-med acidity, med weight black cherry liqueur with some earthy Gevrey spice and a sappy mineral intensity at its core, finishes with med tannins partly derived from the still present but not overwhelming sweet oak; more focused and spice on day 2
-displays the depth and tension of the vintage and wonderful old vine sap, still on the upswing, yet another vintage where this wine blows past many 1er crus; even better on the 2nd day

  • We drank this 10’ with the 09’ vintage while having a golf game in 银涛. Three over me prefered 09’ for more fruity and mouthful body, as a typical hotter vintage character. But I was more fond of classic Burgundy as 10’, more minerals as Gevrey should be, more acidic and silky texture. But it was watery and it was understandable as a village wine. For grand cru, I would pick 10’ vintage.
