It's been a while since we've had any vintages of this wine. This is the last I've seen in town and the independent store that carries it has been replaced by a chain :( so this is the last of my bottles.
Similar to previous vintages, this is a tannin driven wine. There are black and dark red fruits, some earl grey tea and bits of oak influence but really what drives the wine is the mouthfeel and that long finish the tannins bring.
Always interesting in a wine geek sort of way.

A lovely wine for sure, which is dominated by ample fruit full of sun warm strawberry, raspberry jam and subtle red currant. There is also a quite persistent oak sweetness adding to the overall experience, but which certainly could be a bit more balanced. The palate is integrated and tannins are soft and silky. Still the oak is there to say a rather firm hello. Finish lasts some 40+ seconds and the texture/structure tell me it is time to start drinking, though a best guess is there are number of years to go in the cellar for those who wish.

Tasted at Wine Advocat event - A matter of taste. Medium garnet. Nose of raspberry, turf, pepper. Medium bodied, but somehow I cannot find pleasure in the aromatic experience provided. May be to be revisited when I am in Mallorca next time.

Ánima Negra vertical tasting (Bodega Santa Cecilia - Madrid): Pretty strange that violet colour. Reduced nose at first. A little artificial on the nose, betadine? Well if look for the nice, iron. Harsh and hard on the palate. Of course it isn't my favorite.
Extrañamente de color violáceo. Reducido al principio. Un poco artificial en nariz, mercurocromo? Buscando lo rico, hierro. Áspero y duro en boca. No es mi favorito desde luego.

This wine opened beautifully after 45 minutes. Berries and currant and cranberry on the nose. Medium-body and very tamed tannins, a great wine.
