Nose of boysenberry, plum and blackberry with a slightly medicinal note. This has reached the end of its drinking window. Not an unexpected life for a Barbera. Still very fruit forward following the nose, but a broader mix of red, black and blue fruit on the palate. Still medium plus tannins, but only medium acidity. Nice full mouthfeel. A mild bitter chocolate mid-palate that carries through to the finish. The fruit is starting to develop a candied character and a medicinal note is entering the picture. Still, a beautiful wine, but drink now if you have inventory left!

My last bottle, and the only conclusion I can reach is that I bought too few and drank them too soon! The previous one either showed tremendous bottle variation or it was going through a "dumb" period, because it wasn't nearly as good as this one or the previous ones; this was the best bottle of the six I've had.
Dense, dark; heady aromas of sweet dark fruit, hints of clove and fennel; big, full mouthfeel, a thoroughly New World wine in terms of aspect and attack, followed by a delicious European wine later in the mouth and in the aftertaste, with great structure provided by its acid and tannin; lingering residual sweetness. Sweet and savory, together, with great balance. A gem.

Very similar tasting notes to my last ones. Super perfumed, aromatic, boks but fresh Barbera. Year after year one of my favorite Barberas.

Very similar tasting note to the one dated June 2014. What a beautiful and fresh Barbera.
