This is the penultimate bottle of the case, decanted 45 minutes to accompany beef ragout. Served at 15C and seems to benefit from that. Crimson colour. Nose shows ripe blackcurrant and plum fruit with a hint of sweetness. Palate is dry, ripe red berry fruit, cinnamon, cloves, marzipan. Full bodied, long. Very good. Still drinking well, but won't improve further, so drink up.

Another good bottle following some previous disappointments. Opened and decanted to accompany pheasant. Dark blackcurrant colour. Lovely nose of dark berry fruit, cinnamon, marzipan, cloves, leather. Earthy palate, dusty, mature, less fruit than the nose, smooth. Medium length. Excellent overall, but towards the end of its drinking window.

Well-balanced, youthful and reliable. Structure was soft, but still appeasing.

2012 Pinot Tasting + some lovely supplementals (@Private location, Sersheim): Glass: Zalto Burgundy
Tasted blind. Wine decanted about 1h before. Pirate, that was easily detected as a good solid Crus Burgeoise. 88-89
